“United Stales agriculture
department records show that
ihe land where the cars were
parked was being farmed,
because Flynt was receiving
price support subsidies,” said
Gingrich.
The second "discrepancy”
(iingrich noted was Flynt's
reference to the National School
Lunch Program, (iingrich said
Flynt had lied about voting for
and, “when in fact, congressional
records show he voted against
it."
(iingrich cited the third
example as Flynt’s reference to
Joe Akin as an office clerk "Joe
Akin is actually Flynt's farm
manager and office employee,”
said Gingrich.
Flynt said however, that he
uses the term "clerk” for every
office employee other than his
administrative assistant.
Gingrich said Flynt lied
about public appearances.
"Since the campaign. Flynt
has refused to talk to even a
dozen groups," said Gingrich.
When Gingrich announced his
plans to oppose Flynt, he said he
intended “to run on issues, not
personalities," and that "this
will be the most above board
campaign this district has ever
seen."
The 31-year-old professor
cites his main concerns as
"stopping inflation,” and then
“passing a campaign finance
reform."

Jackson emphasized that this
is the first quarter that the SGA
will make a financial profit.
'The student lawyer project
could not be funded by the
student activity fee. so we
decided to utilize SGA money to
finance the legal service.” said
Jackson.
“1 hope that the students will
take advantage of this legal
service and recognize its
source,” Jackson said.

“My voting record has en
compassed 20 years of voting
experience. I wouldn’t claim it
has been perfect, but as a result
of my efforts, 4.9 billion dollars
was cut off a budget request
made by the defense depart
ment,” said Flynt.
Another amendment Flynt
authored, house bill 233-157,
reportedly reduced military aid
to Vietnam by $3OO million
Flynt also said that bringing
federal spending “within
revenues” would help alleviate
the economic problems faced by
America.
When asked about the rate of
inflation and the possibility of a
depression, the 59-year-old
congressman said, “If I can

Although there have been
rumors circulating around
campus that the Hues Cor
poration will perform at the
college, a contract has not been
signed between the group and
campus officials, according to
Cecil Knotts, director of student
activities.
However, Knotts announced
Wednesday at a meeting of the
College Program Board that a
letter had been sent to the
William Morris Corporation, a
New York booking agency,
offering S3OOO to the Hues
Corporation for a performance
to be held December 10 in the
HPE building
Knotts said Wednesday that
the board has received no reply
from the booking agency and
tainly will, and it can be done by
balancing the budget. I will
make every effort.”
Speaking of President Ford,
the incumbent said, "Despite
the fact that the polls say he is
not as popular as he was when
he was sworn in, Ford has
potential; he is a strong man
and a real leader. I respect his
integrity, and his ability.”
In regard to his opponent,
Flynt claimed Gingrich’s
demands for him to “come
home to the people” are un
founded
“If he could see my airline
ticket bills and my appointment
schedule for weekends in the
sixth district, he would retract
his statements regarding lack
of communication with my
constituents,” said Flynt.
“other bands are also being
considered.
At a special CPB meeting
Monday, a decision will be
made as to which band will
perform Meanwhile, a list of
other bands available is being
compiled.
Admission to the concert was
also discussed and the CPB
members voted to admit
students for $1 with college I D.
card. Also one guest per student
will be admitted for $2.
In further action taken by the
21 members present, three new
chairmen were named. They
are Mark Veljkov, Bill Krusse,
