Help Is Available
For Problem Pregnancy
Dear Oil,
I am an 18-year-old freshman at West Georgia. Recently I found
out that I was pregnant. I told my boyfriend and he simply said
“your baby, your problem." Now he doesn’t even speak to me
anymore, i can't tell my parents; they’d lose all respect for me
The only logical way out in this situation is an abortion But what do
1 do if I have no money or help?
Hopeless
Dear Hope:
First of all make sure that an abortion is what you really want.
The llillrrest Clinic and Counseling Service can help you. They are
located at 884 Peachtree Street, N.E., Suite 1010. in Atlanta. The
phone number is (4(H) 262-8000. Both organizations offer
pregnancy testing, counseling, and abortions. The llillcrest Clinic
will perform abortions without charge as a community health
service if one is in exceptional financial hardship. Services are
confidential. For additional information, pamphlets are available
at the college infirmary.

"I’ve seen a lot of progress in
my time,” Jackson said. He
then told of watching a convict
carve out the duck pond with a
bulldozer. Jackson said he
wasn’t sure whether the man
was a convict or an ex-convict,
but he said he thought that the
man was still on the road gang
at the time.
With a note of sadness in his
voice, Jackson told of how
many years ago a young boy
drowned in the lake. A com
panion of the boy went to get
help, but all in vain, and it was
hours before they found the
body. It was then that the
outraged citizens of Carrollton
demanded that the lake be
drained and filled in. Today it is
hard to tell that a lake was ever
there.
Jackson said that the
student center is the third
dining hall he has worked in.
One of them burned down while
he was in the service. What
today is the book store was once
the dining hall for the old kitch
en. Upstairs was the gym
nasium for basketball games
and plays.

The Past
"They had some mighty good
plays there.” Jackson said. He
talked of getting off work and
watching the plays and how he
also enjoyed watching the
students plant the May pole in
the spring.
Customs and people change,
and Jackson says he has seen a
lot of both. Looking at the
casual dress of today's
students, he thinks back to the
time when, especially on
Sunday, the meals were strictly
a coat and tie affair.
