EBONY PLAYERS
The Ebony Players will
present a program including
two plays and a variety
presentation on March 5 and 6
at 8 p.m. in the college
auditorium. The evening will
feature a play by Ann Patterson
entitled “Broken Web.”
Also presented will be a play
entitled “In the Park After
Dark,” by Jonathan Thomas,
who is assistant director of the

STUDY PROGRAM
Qualified junior, senior and
graduate students enrolled at
institutes of higher learning in
the state of Georgia are eligible
to participate in a program
offered by the departments of
art and environmental design at
the University of Georgia. The
program will include ten weeks
of study in Italy at minimum
expense and students can
receive as many as 15 hours of
college credit in art history,
drawing, painting, print
making, sculpture and en
vironmental design.

SCANDINAVIA
Scandinavian Seminar is
offering a three-week co
educational program in sports,
gymnastics and body
awareness in Denmark for
students and others who are
actively interested in physical
fitness. The daily program will
include four hours of physical
activities and two hours of
theory. The cost of the program,
including round-trip trans
portation from New York to
Copenhagen, is $825. The
deadline for applications is

vice-president of the executive
board of the Student Georgia
Association of Educators during
the SAE convention this past
weekend in Decatur.
GRADUATION SPEAKER
Dr. George Christenberry,
president of Augusta College,
will be commencement speaker
on Sunday, March 16, when
approximately 450 students will
receive degrees in 3 p.m.
ceremonies at the HPE
building. Those who completed
degree requirements during fall
or winter quarter will be
presented diplomas.
Food Stamps
Topic For
PIRG Meet
Food stamp awareness was
the topic of discussion at the
third meeting of the Public
Interest Research Group,
(PIRG) held Tuesday.
Ann Finley and Mrs. Celeste
Tigner, from the Carrollton
Department of F’amily and
Children Services, were the
guest speakers at the meeting.
They showed slides, and
requested 10 student volunteers
to work at the T-Burger in
Carrollton accepting and
processing food stamp ap
plications.
Volunteers can work either
from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. or
from Ip.m. to 3:30 p.m. All
interested students should
check with the Department of
Family and Children Services
on Maple Street, in Carrollton.
“PIRG’s main objectives are
to make students aware that
through research they can best
see their own roles in society,”
stated Norman White, a
graduate student active in
organizing PIRG at West
Georgia.
