Pafford will sign the bill?
Should it be passed? Here are
some varied replies to the
situation “on tap.”

“I think President Pafford
will sign the proposal because
he is leaving. I don't think he
would raise a clamor over a bill
that has already been passed,”
said Annelle Colevins, an an
thropology major from North
Carolina “I think that he’s
intelligent enough to realize
that we can handle beer on
campus,” she added.
Fred Hampton, an art major
from Musella. Ga., said, “I see
no reason not to pass the bill. It
might help attract students to
West Georgia by giving it more
of a big school atmosphere.”
Mike Borne, sophomore, said,
“I believe President Pafford
will seriously consider the
situation, and viewing all
possibilities, he will hopefully
pass it.”
A junior English major from
Griffin, Pam Manley, said,
“Even though President
Pafford may think many people
are behind it, he knows what it

Allen Gunter, managing
editor, won two first place
awards in the categories of
‘‘Best Feature Story” and
“Best Series of Editorials.” The
editorial series was concerned

Gary Willis, former news

want it to be passed because
even though I believe that
nothing is wrong with drinking

that it would encourage people
to overindulge.”
“I don’t believe the proposal
will pass,” said Dale Hindrex of
Atlanta. "But,” he said, “if they
want it, let them have it.”
Tamo Masuda, a senior, said,
“I don't think Pafford will sign
the proposal because he seems
like a person who would be
against it for educational
purposes.” Masudo said he
thinks Dr. Pafford should not
sign the proposal because “it is
unnecessary to have beer on the
campus.”

“No, 1 don’t think President
Pafford will pass it because he
is leaving and he won’t have to
listen to the widespread
disagreement of his decision by
students,” said Mark Young, a
sophomore criminal justice
major. He said he thinks it
should be signed “because a
pub on campus would attract
more students to the college and
it would give non-Greek
students a place to go and
relax.”
Terry Treadwell, seizor
English major, said she doesn't
think Dr. Pafford will pass such
an important issue because his
term is almost over and “the
bill is basically against his
beliefs. 1 do feel it should be
passed because the rules are not
enforced now as it is.”
