RESIDENCE HALL
Dorm residents can look forward to RHA
Week, to be held April 22-27. This annual
event, sponsored by the Residence Hall
Association gives residents of each hall the
opportunity to sponsor a campus-wide
event free of charge. All activities during
the week will be free to hall residents, and
ID’s will be checked according to hall
rosters.
The scheduled events include: April 22 •
RHA picnic, 5:30 p.m. in Love Valley;
April 23 - Pritchard hall splash party, 7:30
p.m., HPE building; April 24 Roberts hall,
8 p.m. movie; April 25 • Watson male 1.98
beauty pageant, 7:30 p.m. social science
lecture hall; April 26 - Downs’ talent show,
8 p.m., Z-6; April 27 - Tyus hall block
party, 7:30 p.m., student center.
The RHA’s purpose is to establish and
maintain a body for communication and
cooperation among West Georgia
residence halls, and to encourage in
tellectual growth and personal develop
ment among their residents. It sponsors
and coordinates programs and activities
of an educational, social and athletic
nature for the enhancement of the college
community, with particular emphasis on
the dorm student. The RHA’s officers are
Cameillia Johnson, president; Rodney
Jones, vice-president; Daniel Thompson,
secretary; and Cindy Bissere, treasurer.
LEARN ITALIAN
A self-paced taped program in Italian is
available in the language lab in the
humanities building. Accompanying
textbooks may be purchased at the
campus bookstore.

Mike Ashmore (I), senior from Ml. Zion, Is “tapped” Into Omicron Delta Kappa
(ODK) by Phyllis Fountain, assistant professor of elementary education at
West Georgia and Mel Caraway, director of student activities. ODK is a
nationally recognised honor society which honors students who are outstanding
in leadership areas of the campus community and who achieve an academic
record which places them in the upper third of their class. Ashmore is one of 22
West Georgia students who will be tapped. A charter initiation service for the
West Georgia chapter will be held at Kennedy Chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday.

3-D is the unique process by which the
theatre audience experiences the grand
illusion of action coming out of the movie
screen. Special glasses are required to
view the film and will be given to each
person free of charge. There will be three
showings of the movie on Tuesday at 8
p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. in Z-6.

SUMMER COURSE IN SEX
THERAPY AND COUNSELING
Professor Ernst Bjerkerot, a fellow of
the Masters and Johnson Institute, an
nounces that the Seminar in Sexual
Problems (Soc. 811) will be offered during
Summer quarter.
In accordance with the guidelines for the
professional training of sex counselors laid
down by the professional organization, the
American Association of Sex Educators,
Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT),
which has given certification to Bjerkerot,
all students taking the course must be

enrollment. The college catalog states that
prior approval by the instructor is
necessary for enrollment. Kaplan’s book
The New Sex Therapy will be used, and the
students will be given an opportunity to do
counseling in a group setting.
ART FOR SALE
The art student league is having a spring
fling art show outside the humanities
building May 14-17.
Register your entrees May 9 and 10 on
the third floor of the humanities building
from 9-2. All works will be for sale in
cluding two and three dimensional work.
ALPHA KAPPA PSI
TO MEET
Mr. Grady Coleman, president of the
Gwinnett Bank and Trust Cos., will be the
guest speaker at the Alpha Kappa Psi
professional meeting. The meeting will be
held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday
Inn in Bremen. All business students and
interested persons are invited to attend.
Cost is $4.25 per person.
Those planning to attend should register
in Dr. Hunsicker’s office room 13 in the
basement of the business building.
GEORGIANS AGAINST
NUCLEAR ENERGY
The environmental studies program is
sponsoring a discussion on the future of
nuclear energy in Georgia. Re presen
tatives from Georgians Against Nuclear
Energy (GANE) will be on campus
Monday at 8:55 in geography room 21, at 10
a m. in social science room 112, and 11:05
in geography building (O’Malley’s class).
Whether pro or con, you are invited to join
in the discussions.
IVY PLEDGES
Kappa Tau chapter of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha sorority announced their Spring ivy
pledges. They are Kendra Wynn, senior,
from Douglasville, and Yolanda Reid,
sophomore, from Atlanta.
