Szechuan to Southern
Cuisines Available
Eating out in Carrollton used to be pretty basic. There were
hamburgers, chicken, and pizza, if you wanted it, but if you craved
something less ordinary you were out of luck.
Now, thanks to the city’s expansion, if you want something
besides the usual for lunch, you can have it. Egg rolls, veal in wine
sauce or sweet and sour pork - they are all within the city limits.
If a Chinese meal appeals, you now have two choices. There is the
Golden River on Maple Street which is known for its large selection
of Chinese dishes and is, according to Brown’s Guide to Georgia,
“your best bet for Chinese food within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta.”
On the other side of town in the First Tuesday Mall is the Bamboo
Garden Chinese Restaurant, which has a menu full of authentic
Mandarin and Szechuan specialties.
If it’s a French meal you’re after, try Danyel’s Restaurant
located on Bremen Road. There you’ll find chicken with wine sauce
and veal prepared the way the French do.
There are two steak houses, Bonanza and Western Sizzlin, and
they will shortly be joined by a third, and for a quick taco, there are
two Del Taco fast food restaurants located on opposite ends of
Carrollton.
If after eating out international-style, you’re ready for anything
all-American, try Thomas’ Restaurant located in the First
Tuesday Mall which specializes in home-cooked meals and has
vegetables.
