'Studentsfor America'
on West Georgia campus
“It was only a matter of time until
this nation’s college students decid
ed to make American great again,”
boasts a recruitmenlifrom one of
West Georgia College’s newest
clubs, Studentsfor America.
Founded on the University of
Georgia campus serveral years ago,
Students for America now has hun
dreds of chapters around the country
and recently gained national press
attention for its “Return of Walter
Mondale” spoof poster.
Although the West Georgia College
Chapter is not yet recognized by the
administration, all papers have been
turned in and a search committee for
an advisor has selected three faculty
members.
Chapter organizer Ed Henderson
said that the club is not another
chapter of the College Republicans
as some critics have labled the new
club. “It is true we support Reagan
and are working against Mondale
but we support Democrats as well
like Sam Nunn. The primary pur
pose of our organization is now to
campaign for or against candidates
for office, we are part of anew col
lege movement to change a pattern
of history that has taken place dur
ing the last 20 years.
