College Work Study Programs (CWSP) is a work program that is pre-approved by the
financial aid office.
CWSP3B Computer Lab Assitant-10hrs.-2hourblock,M,WandF,ll:3o-s:oo.Computer
skills not necessary, will train.
CWSP 28 Computer Lab Assistant -10 hrs. M,W,F from 11:30. Must have good
communication skills, will train. $4.25 hour.
CWSP 27 Theatrical Sound Technician - 5-20 hrs. Set up microphones, run sound board.
$4.25 hour.
CWSP 23 Delivery person -15 hours -11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 12 noon to 3 p.m.. Must have
current Drivers License and be able to drive a shift truck, and be able to carry 50 lbs.
CWSP 22 Clerical - 10 hours - mornings. Computer skills a must. $4.25 hour.
CWSP 10 Grounds maintenance-10-20 hours. Work in greenhouse, nursery, flower beds,
and general landscaping maintenance. $4.25 hour.

West Georgia College works with private industry as well as state and Federal
agencies to develop Co-op positions. Many Co-op students are offered full-time
positions by the employer upon graduation. Some Co-op employers are listed

Southern Company Services, IBM, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S.
Department of Agriculture, Federal Records Center ,Georgia Department of
Transportation, Social Security Administration, Bell South Services,
Norfolk Southern, Sales Technologies.
-Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and
Disease Registry(ATSDß)- Epidemiologist, Computer Specialist, Statistician
and Biostatistician, Toxicologist, Microbiologist.
Other positions may include biologist chemist environmental health scientist,
management analyst, and writer-editor. Co-op continued above.
U.S. Department of Agriculture- Biology majors-Plant Protection and
Quarantine Officer- Atlanta airport, International Building
U.S. Customs- Washington, D.C. -Criminal Investigator, Intelligence
Research Specialist, Customs Inspector, Import Specialist, Chemist,
Textile Technologist.
U.S. Department of Commerce- Audit assignments, assisting in
investigations of white collar crimes
Internships.
Newspaper Editing Internship- Guaranteed paid summer jobs as daily
newspaper copy editors, and SI,OOO scholarship at the end of the
summer.
Summer Internship for Current Graduate Students-The Ford Founda
tion- Must apply field of study to the public-interest sector.
Federal Law Enforcement Training Center- Ten week sessions. Must
have completed 135 hrs and be in the upper one-third of class in
academic standing.
Governor's Internship Program- Available to all majors.
The Sunshine House- Adult education teacher. Must be a junior or
senior special education major. Tutoring experience preferred. Work a
minimum of 10 hours per week non-paid.
