After having more
than a week off, the Wolves
returned to action on Oc
tober 3 to begin a heavy
road schedule that will see
UWG play away in four of
the next six games.
The Wolves, having
already beaten the Lions in
Carrollton, traveled to Flor
ence, Ala. last Tuesday.
The first half was a
defensive battle as neither
team could score, leaving
the score tied headed into
the second half.
The Wolves finally
broke the score in the
67th minute of the con
test on an unassisted goal
by Samantha Jones. The
goal was the first of the
season for Jones.
After shutting the
Lions out for a half and
already beating them in
Carrollton, the one goal
lead seemed enough to pull
out the win. Even more,
the Lions had not scored a
goal since September 22.

er, the Lions broke their
scoreless drought to tie the
game on an unassisted goal
by Alison Woodman. Nei
ther team was able to score
in the remainder of regula
tion, forcing overtime.
It was the first time
the Wolves had played
in overtime this season
and it did not last long.
Just two minutes into the
overtime period Wood
man struck again to give
North Alabama the 2-1
win.
Following the loss,
the Wolves traveled back
home where they were 5-
0 to host Ouachita Baptist.
In the first half, neither
team could find the net,
leaving the match score
less at the half.
In the 59th minute the
Wolves seized the lead on
a Margret Jonsdottir goal.
The goal was set up by
Erika Harvey, who found
Jonsdottir all alone from
just 18 yards out.
In the 69th minute the
Wolves tacked on another
goal to take a 2-0 lead.
It was Jonsdottir again
from just over 18 yards
out, but this time the assist
came from Alex Udin from
the far corner.
After a penalty against
the Wolves, Ouachita Bap
tist was given a free kick.
Sarah Reed made good on
the kick to pull the Tigers
to within one goal with just
under ten minutes left.
The Tigers pulled out
all their tricks in an effort
to tie the game, but the
UWG defense was just
too strong on their way to
preserving the win. With
the win the Wolves are
still undefeated at home
with a mark of 6-0.
After the win the
Wolves hit the road again,
this time traveling to
Searcy, AR. for a match
with Harding.
The first half was a de
fensive battle until the 36th
minute when Harding’s
Lnysey Clissold found the
net from 25 yards out.
In the second half
the Wolves were unable
to generate any offense
until very late. However,
at that point the Bisons
were playing confident on
defense.
The Wolves were able
to get a couple of chances
but were unable to make
good on any of them, Ris
ing 1-0.
The Wolves are now
8-5 on the season and 3-2
in Gulf South Conference
play.
With just three games
remaining, the Wolves
are in control of their own
destiny. The Wolves will
