The Rant & Rave
The G.O.P. didn’t want the law
to ‘get involved’ with Republican
Mark Foley’s sexual behavior
towards a 16 year old boy. They
pride themselves on being non
intellectual and now they’re taking
child molestation lightly?! What
a disgusting group of people they
are. To make it worse, senior aides
to Dennis Hastert were alerted to
the perversity three years ago.
Smokers, please be considerate of
others. Exercize your right to slow,
expensive suicide somewhere
other than directly in front of
buildings through which everyone
must pass.
I’m tired of people sitting on the
stairs in the UCC like they own the
place. Go to class!
So, what’s the suprise we’re
promised for the music column?

Sometimes, when
things are going really
well, you overlook some
obvious shortcomings.
This is true both in life
and in college football. A
perfect example of this is
the Auburn Tigers.
Going into last
Saturday, they were
undefeated and no. 2 in
the nation. They were even
ranked ahead of USC in
one of the polls. That’s a
novel idea, isn’t it?
Anyhow, it all came
crashing down in a very
embarassing fashion, as
the “if Arkansas has a half
decent team, they steamroll
over a Tuberville-coached
team" trend continued.
Did I struggle to
believe what my eyes were
seeing? Yes. Should 1 have
been suprised? No.
When Auburn barely
beat LSU and walked off
the field as a battered and
beaten down team, I should
have been a little weary of
any national title talk.
One week later, two
very long scoring drives by

We’ve all got something to moan and complain about.

Buffalo should have made
me feel uneasy.
Finally, the lack of
tackling in the fourth
quarter against a South
Carolina team that is
average at best should
have been a red flag.
In spite of those
warnings, even those who
wear crimson-shaded
glasses seemed to think
all was well in the Auburn
camp.
Well, last Saturday,
nothing went right. It made
last year’s bowl game look
less pathetic.
A team that relies
on its running game fell
behind and had to pass,
and a world-beater defense
just looked plain bad.
Georgia also lost for the
first time this season after a
couple of close scares.
They also lost in an
embarassing fashion, and
1 am sure that a lot of
their fans were beyond
discouraged.
Hey, at least we’re
not Yankees fans.

encouragement that I can
muster up for you.
Seriously, though. All
is not lost.
Unless you pull for
Tennessee, Alabama, Florida
State, Miami. Tuiane,
Marshall, Utah and a few
others, you haven't seen
your team go undefeated in
recent memory.
You've got to keep
that in mind. It is hard to
go undefeated in the SHC
The seemingly
unrealistic goal of
winning them all is gone,
so to enjoy the reat of the
season maybe we should
set some attainable goals
and watch as your team
hopefully reaches them.
Fans of Auburn and
Georgia need to keep their
heads up and worry about
winning the conference.
Steve Spurrier used
to say that his team’s first
goal every year was to
win an SEC? title.
Every SEC coach,
past and present, would
tell you that other than
former Alabama head
coach Mike Dubose. I
hear he's doing a good job
as a high school coach.
All is not lost, sports
fans. Let’s keep that in
mind and pull against those
pesky Gators.
