of the NBA playoffs and

the Eastern and Western
conference will compete
to win the Larry O’Brien
Trophy.
The Miami Heat

run in the playoffs last
year. After falling to the
Dallas Mavericks in the
first two games, the Heat

against Montevallo at
Cole Field.
West Georgia
dropped the first game 5-
3 and four costly errors
helped Montevallo propel
to victory on the road.
Striking in the second
inning, the Falcons B.J.
Holloway connected on
a three-run homer to give
his team the lead.
Quickly responding
to the homer, A.J.
back from a 0-2 deficit
to defeat the Mavericks
4-2 in the NBA finals.
However, with a
sluggish start and host
of injuries, the Heat has
struggled this season and
took a big blow when
finals MVP, Dwayne
Wade, went down with a
left shoulder injury.
The Mavericks
started the season 0-4
but has put their finals
meltdown behind them
and has been the best team
in the NBA all season.
Led by MVP candidate,
Dirk Nowitzki, they have
home-court advantage
locked throughout
the playoffs and hope
to return to the NBA
Going, going....gone!
Renfrow hit a three-run
homer in the bottom of
the third to tie the score.
Unfortunately, the errors
became a factor for the
Wolves which helped
Montevallo regain the
lead.
The Wolves went on a
drought and was unable to
score after Renfrow homer
in the third. Securing the
lead, the Falcons added
another run and took the
finals.
Phoenix Suns, San
Antonio Spurs. and
Detroit Pistons are a few
experienced teams that
look to make it hard for
the Heat and Mavericks
to make it back to the
championship game.
The Suns have the
second best record in the
league and is led by two
time MVP Steve Nash,
who is in the running for
his third straight award
this season.
The Spurs have
surged lately, owning the
best record in the league
since the All-Star break.
Tim Duncan and Tony
Parker have consistently
played great to keep the
Sports
first game of the series.
Due to inclement
weather, the second game
of the doubleheader
was postponed and the
Wolves had a chance to
regroup and develop a
new game plan. That plan
never materialized as the
Wolves fell 5-3 and 12-5,
getting swept in the three
game series.
Montevallo played
good, taking an early lead
Spurs elite in the Western
Conference.
The Pistons are on
the list of top teams
since the All-Star break
and has clinched the
best record in the East.
Unfortunately, the
Heat are slowly getting
healthy and preparing to
defend their title.
The regular season
ends April 19 and all the
playoff teams must put
the regular season behind
them. Everyone knows
once the playoffs begin,
it’s Win or Go Home.
In the famous words
of Charles Barkley, the
teams who haven’t made
it to the playoffs are
gone fishing.

against the Wolves in the
cold, windy, and damp
weather. The Wolves
fought back to tie the
score but the Falcons
connected on runs in the
seventh and eighth inning
to clinch the victory.
The third game
was a must win for the
Wolves, but the offensive
explosion of the Falcons
could not be contained.
