By Jerry Houston

This semester, public
safety is implementing
new parking regulations
that will affect any
students that commute to
campus.
Apparently, the
university has received
funding for new
buildings and is waiting
for construction to begin
on the designated sites.
The construction of
the Health and Wellness
Center, along with the
7,000 seat arena will
begin this semester and
students are expected to
take note of the parking
changes that may make
parking easier.
There will be a loss of

On Wednesday,
August 15. the EXCEL
Center mentors and
proteges got together for
the first time to start the
school year with their
annual Kick Off Party.
It was an opportunity
for proteges and mentors
to meet and greet, get to
know each other, and ask
those burning “beginning
of-the-year” questions
that every freshman has.

To recover from
this significant loss,
the department has two
new regulations that
may accommodate for
those parking spaces.
First, graduate
assistants will be
utilizing the parking
spaces in the

faculty lots. This
will allow commuter
students to park where
the graduate assistants
used to park.
A temporary lot on the
old Brookwood property
has been recreated into
an additional parking lot
for commuter students.
There was music,
games, and that little
thing that makes every
college student’s heart
jump with glee: free
food. Not to mention an
impressive Power Point

The band does
