The men and
women’s basketball team
will open the season
tomorrow, and they are
ready to gain respect in the
Gulf South Conference
East Division. Both teams
were picked fifth and third
respectively, but believe
they have a chance to
make some noise in the
conference.

For the men’s

must overcome the loss
of former head coach Ed

However, the loss
isn't much of a big deal,
since his replacement is a
very familiar face.

West Georgia has
struggled this season
after a promising
start and a big season

a top ranked defense,

After the news

with a string of games

the Wolves continued

team, so the season isn’t
much of a rebuilding year
for the Wolves, who return
four starters.
However, with
the 89-77 preseason
loss against Division I
Jacksonville State, and
the GSC coaches picking
the Wolves to finish fifth
in the division, many
critics doubt their chance
to succeed in the East
Division.

The Wolves

On the positive

was only down 14-10 at

Unfortunately for
the Wolves, Valdosta

without their starting

Tucker Pruitt provided
an instant spark,
leading his team to a
pair of touchdowns in
the second half.
Valdosta State
