his glory days of Super

and Bowser’s Castle,
Super Mario Galaxy
promises players a
brand new frontier to
explore: space. But
just don’t expect the
Bowser kidnapping
Princess Peach to be any
different.

With only three major
releases under his belt
(Daijeeling Limited being
his fourth), Wes Anderson
has certainly made quite
the name for himself.
Debuting onto the scene
in ‘94 with Bottle Rocket,
and then onto fan favorites
The Life Aquatic and Royal
Tenenbaums, Darjeeling will
pleasantly please those who
admired his earlier work.

Assassin’s Creed

Following the
successful Prince of
Persia reboot series,
adding Adrien Brody to his
list of actors this time around.
The trio has great chemistry
(or lack thereof), as the film
follows the brothers on a
quest throughout India to
discover their selves and
reunite the brotherhood they
once had.
The only problem is
Owen Wilson’s character,
Francis, is a bit controlling
and starts to cause grief
among the siblings. This is
what the majority of the plot
revolves around; Francis’s
attempts at being the “big
brother” when in actuality'
he’s acting the least mature
(which is what Owen does
best). Although his banter is
tamed down compared to his
past work such as Wedding
Crashers, his humor is still
there, just in a weird, hidden
kind of way: a traditional
Wes Anderson trademark.
Adrien Brody’s debut into
the faux-comedy scene came
a bit unexpected (opting out
maybe a music video. But
on Wednesday, November
7, 2007 the rappers were
appearing at Manhattan

cases ranging from assault to
weapons possession.

will have him climb,
while pressing the legs
in his more serious roles in
films like King Kong and
The Pianist), but it turns out
he can be relatively funny
too. Mr. Schwartzman is a
fine addition to the movie
as he ultimately shares the
spotlight with Adrien and
Owen.
As the movie’s three
main actors, Daijeeling
doesn’t need much else to
keep the viewer’s attention,
thanks to the sublime location
forthe movie’s setting. India’s
vast, spacious landscapes and
its congested, foreign inner
cities are quite stunning to see
for the landlocked Georgian
like myself. The native film
score music also provides
for a refreshing change of
non-traditional songs that go
along nicely in the movie.
Daijeeling so far has
pulled a modest eight million
in its first six weeks out
showing potential, but its
limited release has held it
back from going any farther.

BioWare look to perfect
their role playing

The 13-minute short provides
as a prequel for Daijeeling,
giving us a taste of what’s

Saxophone Ensemble to perform
at Kathy Cashen Hall

The Saxophone
Ensemble of The
University of West
Georgia will perform in
Kathy Cashen Hall on
Wednesday, Nov. 17, at
8:15 p.m. The ensemble
that will be directed
by Dr. John Bleuel has
grown from six members
to 13 in just two years,
and is made up of West
Georgia students, faculty
and music alumni.
The program is
broadly assorted with
transcriptions of Baroque
English vocal and Italian
instrumental sacred music.
There is a Bach concerto
arranged for saxophones,
a set of Twentieth-Century
variations, a march
and a five-part atonal
contemporary piece for
creations as they also
look to go where Mario
is heading; into space.
Playing as the human
Commander Shepard,
players will find
themselves immersed
in a vast universe of
planets, aliens, and
new experiences. Right
out of the box, players
have full control to
tweak Shepard into
the image and person
they deem worthy and
are soon dropped into
a universe of choices
and action. Instead of
previous BioWare titles
that involved choose
and-watch actions and
attacks, Mass Effect
will play more like a
third person shooter
with real time firefights
and squad control. But
BioWare’s popular RPG
developing elements
will continue to have
players tweaking their
characters and weapons
for hours.
When not
running and gunning
throughout intergalactic
destinations, players
will communicate with

encourages multiple
run-throughs of an
already impressively
long game.
Mass Effect is
currently preparing to
launch for a November
20 launch date, however
some lucky space cadets
have already found
themselves copies at
their local Kmarts and
Toys’R Us’. Way to
break the street date
incompetent store
workers.
