Judge ’98 Inventor, Scientist, Technologist and Philanthropist JUDGE is an inventor who has nearly 30 patented and patent-pending computer security technologies. A rec ognized authority on infor mation security issues, he has authored a number of papers on the issue and has been one of the industry’s leading experts in the field. CANDLE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP Robert Benjamin Crews Jr. President and Chief Executive Officer, CREWS DBA Crews of California, Crews Enterprises and Airport Retail Management CREWS opened his first retail outlet - The House of Paper Mache, a card and gift shop - in East Orange, N.J., in 1969. Sleeping on a cot in the back of the store to make ends meet, Crews saw business expand, opening a larger store in downtown Newark. That led to an airport official asking lum if he’d be willing to open a store in the Newark Airport. He eventually converted his card shop into an airport bookstore business that flourished not only in Newark, but airports across the country. Crews was one of the first airport concessionaires to mix retail and food busi nesses.
