Canonization
Date Set
SAINT MICHAEL’S STUDENTS celebrated Thanksgiving by “giving”
with gratitude to the hungry of the world. The first and second graders
wanted to be like the small boy in John 6, 9 and “give some of their bread
and fish.” The third and fourth graders took to heart the words from
Matthew 25, 33 “I was hungry and you gave me to eat.” Fifth and sixth
graders, anxious to share with the “thin nations of the world,” obeyed the
injunction of Tobias to his son, “Give to the hungry some of your bread.”
Tob. 4, 16. The seventh and eighth graders gave of themselves by helping
to organize the celebration and by giving to the “poor.” The collection,
taken up by the Mission Moderators, went toward the Human
Development Program. Pictured with the students is Father Payne, pastor
of Saint Michael’s Church, Savannah Beach.
