Choice" Weekend At Cochran
The choices that face young adults in to
day’s society can be baffling and hard to
make. The choices facing young Catholics
may be even more difficult, given the dif
ferences between Catholic values and the
attitudes of society.
To address these choices, a group of 17
young adults gathered September 13 -15 at
Grace Hall, Middle Georgia College,
Cochran, with Sergeant Mike Bode, Ron
and Ann Trudell and Father Douglas Clark
for a weekend called “Choice.”
The program, developed by Father Tom
Lemon for William H. Sadlier Publishers,
dealt with the choices facing young adults
(career, vocation, sexuality and mar
riage) in terms of belonging in communi
ty-
The sessions involved readings from the
“Choice” materials, personal presenta
tions from the team members, followed by
discussion in small and larger groups.
Meals together, music and games punc
tuated the nine sessions. The Sacraments
of Reconciliation was celebrated on Satur
day evening and Mass on Sunday conclud
ed the weekend.
The initiative for this weekend came
from the Catholic Chapel at Robins Air
Force Base, but participants came, not on
ly from the base, but from Sacred Heart
parish, Warner Robins and Saint James,
Savannah.
Other parishes or groups interested in
the “Choice” program should contact
Father Clark at the Department of Chris
