Fr. Wahl Speaker For Charismatic Conference
Fr. Edward Wahl
The Diocesan Service Committee for the
Charismatic Renewal will sponsor a mini-
conference, a “Growth Day" for
Charismatics on May 9 in Augusta. This
event is hosted by St. Mary’s Prayer
Group and His Way Prayer Group and will
be held at St. Mary's on-the-Hill Parish
Hall at 1420 Monte Sano Avenue in
Augusta.
The conference speaker. Father Edward
Wahl, is a native of Philadelphia and is a
member of the Congregation of the
Oratory of St. Philip Neri (C.O.). He is cur
rently Diocesan Liaison for the
Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of
Charleston, and is actively engaged in
Retreat, Parish Renewal and Spiritual
Direction ministry. He has four times been
Major Superior of the Oratorian Communi
ty in Rock Hill. S.C., holds a licentiate in
Canon Law from Catholic University and
has held many Oratorian and Diocesan
positions.

Chorale Concert At Cathedral
Philip Greenberg, Music Director and
Conductor, is proud to announce that the
Savannah Symphony Orchestra will be
performing with the Savannah Symphony
Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Robert
Harris on Sunday. May 3 at 3:30 p.m. in the
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The con
cert will feature soprano, Kathryne Jenn
ings. This will be the last chance this
season to hear the Savannah Symphony
Chorale perform. The Chorale is the of
ficial volunteer singing arm of the Savan
nah Symphony.
Tickets are $5 Regular and $3 for
students and senior citizens. For informa

"Blessing Of Pets"
Savannah - May 3
The Pet Assistance League of Savannah.
Inc. (PALS) will hold their fourth annual
“Blessing of Pets” on Humane Sunday,
May 3rd, to mark the beginning of “Be
Kind to Animals Week.” The interfaith
ceremony will take place in Lafayette
Square at 2 p.m. Dogs and cats must be
leashed or in carriers. Come help us thank
God for our wonderful pets and to ask His
blessing for all His creatures great and
small.
This year the ceremony will be con
ducted by: Rev. Herbert J. Wellmeier

ing a Polo Benefit in coordination with the
Aiken Polo Club Saturday, April 25 at 2:00
p.m. at Whitney Field in Aiken, SC. The
gate opens at 11:00 a m....general admis
sion tickets are $4.00 adults and $2.00
children.
Fieldside parking is available for $50.00
which includes 4 adult tickets and lunch at
the hospitality tent. Tickets can be pur
