Advice
(Continued from page 5)
doesn’t intend to keep her so busy
she can’t find time to change from
her bathrobe before mid-afternoon.
Finally, I would tell her that spend
ing time with other mothers and find
ing humor in the mishaps of a rough
day will make even the most stress
ful moments more tolerable.
Perhaps the best advice I’d give,
however, I’d offer to a new moth
er’s husband, parents, and friends.
Tell her often how much you value
what she’s doing. Make sure she
knows you respect the sacrifices
she’s making and the hard work

involved. Be sure to support her by
helping whenever possible. And, if
she’s anything like I was, go easy
on the advice.
