The new Eagle Scout has been a member of Saint James' Boy Scout Troop 88 for about five years. Stephen's Eagle Scout project was to rebuild the bridge on the cross-country track path at Bene dictine. They are among the 16,000 finalists being considered for a Merit Scholarship award. Katie Hofstadter has also been named the 2000 STAR Student. She has chosen Mrs. Jane Claxton, English teacher (right), as her STAR Teacher. The STAR student is selected as a result of having the highest SAT score of the senior class. Katie is the daughter of Carl and Kathy Hofstadter (both Mount de Sales Academy graduates) of Macon. Mrs. Claxton has been a Mount de Sales faculty member for 19 years, serving as guidance counselor for 5 years and teaching English across all grade levels.
