McDonald present the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award to Sister Mary James McDonald, CSJ, seated at left, on June 15, 1999 in Saint Louis, Missouri. ister Mary James McDonald, CSJ, died August 22 at the Na zareth Living Center, Saint Louis, Missouri. She was 83. Theresa McDonald was bom on September 24, 1916, in Savannah. She entered Sisters of Saint Joseph on September 7, 1934, and made her final profession on August 15, 1940. She was graduated from Fontbonne College, Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1951 with a B.A. in education. She received her M.A. in education from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, in 1956. During her 64 years as a Sister of Saint Joseph, Sister Mary James served as a school teacher, admini strator and counselor. Among the schools in which she served were: Sacred Heart, Savannah (1937), Mount Saint Joseph, Augusta (1943), and Aquinas High, Augusta (1958, 1979, 1991). She was granted the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award by Pope John Paul II in 1999. Sister Mary James McDonald is survived by three sisters and one brother: Sister Mary Aurelia Mc Donald of Saint Louis, Missouri, Eleanor Amett of Jacksonville, Flo rida, Ann Jordan of Southampton, New York and Bishop Emeritus Andrew J.
