Birthright Workshop
Birthright, an international, interdenominational, volunteer organization that
offers help to troubled, pregnant girls and women is sponsoring a Training and
Information Workshop on September 23 at Darton College, Albany, in room
G-132 (behind the library, park in the back lot and walk through the breeze
way). Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the program will end around
3:30 p.m. A light lunch will, be provided. If you are interested in volunteering
with Birthright or getting more information about this type of service, please
come; there is no obligation.

Saint James Silent Auction
The Saint James School Silent Auction is set for October 6, at 6:30 p.m.
at the Saint James Narthex, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah. This year’s
“Putting on the Ritz” event includes a light supper, great auction buys, danc
ing, and fun. Tickets are on sale at Saint James for the bargain price of $15.00
each through October 1 (after October 1, tickets are $20.00 each).

Youth for Life Encounter
High school students and their parents are invited to attend a day-long right-
to-life event on October 7, at Saint Teresa of Avila Church, 117 Pleasant
Home Road, Augusta, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. The featured keynote
speaker is Rebecca Kiessling, an abortion survivor and pro-life family law
attorney. Pro-life professionals will lead 30-minute breakout sessions on a host
of topics, including abortion alternatives, post-abortion syndrome, pro-life
apologetics, euthanasia, living wills and rationed medical care. In addition, a
nationally touring museum-quality photographic exhibit sponsored by the U.
S. Catholic bishops, depicting the pro-life movement's 27 years of service to
women and children in response to legalized abortion, will be on display.
Lunch will be served, along with an ice cream social, music and games. The
day will conclude with a special pro-life rosary and Mass. Attendance is limit
ed to the first 400 registered; so pre-registration is encouraged. There is a $
5.00 registration fee, with confidential financial assistance available. A per
mission slip/medical release form is also required of both teens and adults.

Columbus Deanery CCW
Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women will host the Columbus
Deanery Fall Luncheon Meeting on October 15. Mass will be celebrated at
11:00 a.m. in the Church. Registration will be at noon, followed by lunch in
the Parish Hall. The General meeting will follow lunch, provided by Our Lady
of Lourdes’ members. Our Lady of Lourdes Church is located at 1953 Torch

Father Mitchell Pacwa, S.J. to Speak
The Alleluia Catholic Fellowship, Augusta, will sponsor Father Mitchell
Pacwa, S.J., on October 21 at Saint Joseph Church on Lumpkin Road. The
day will begin with 8:00 Mass followed by a continental breakfast. There will
be talks and time for discussion in the morning. Please bring a bag lunch,
drinks will be provided. Fast food restaurants are nearby if needed. There will
be an afternoon talk and discussion. The day will conclude at approximately
3:00. Child care for children under five will be provided by the Alleluia
Catholic Fellowship.

“Undoing Racism”
“Undoing Racism”, a workshop sponsored by the Diocese of Savannah, the
Office of African American Ministry and Catholic Social Services, and con
ducted by “The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond,” will be offered
November 3-5 at Sacred Heart Parish in Warner Robins.

Cathedral Golf Classic
The Cathedral Classic , golf tournament, to benefit the Social Apostolate,
will be held at 9:00 a.m., at The Landings Club on November 6. It will be a
four person scramble, open to men, women and mixed teams. The cost per
player is $85. Golf, range balls, lunch and prizes are included. Hole sponsors
are needed at a cost of $25, individual and $100, corporate. Checks should be
