Candlelight & Music
The seventh annual Candlelight & Music Dinner will be held at 7:00 p.m. on
January 20 at Sacred Heart Parish Activity Center, 250 South Davis Drive,
Warner Robins. The dinner, co-sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #
4371 and Sacred Heart Friends for Life, benefits Nazareth Home. Entertainment
will be provided by Romans Road, Christian musicians from middle Georgia.
Dinner includes salad, steak, baked potato, roll, coffee, tea and dessert. Joyce
Handy, Houston County Department of Family and Children Services will
speak. Minimum ticket donation is $25.00. Donations are tax deductible.

Macon Media Relations/Archives Workshop
Gillian Brown, Diocesan Archivist, and Barbara D. King, Communications
Director, will present a program at Holy Spirit Church, 4074 Chambers Road,
Macon, on January 24. An afternoon workshop beginning at 3:00 p.m. will
assist those interested in effective media relations, including a session on how
to prepare press releases and announcements for local papers and The Sou
thern Cross. The evening program will begin with a pot-luck supper at 6:30
p.m., followed by a presentation on preservation of historical records in the
Macon area.

“Sands of Yesterday” Dance
Saint James Church, Whitfield and Montgomery Crossroads, Savannah, will
host a dance, on January 27, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the Parish Center, with
music by Mark Schaub. Saint James’ Council of Catholic Women will sponsor
the dance, whose theme is “Sands of Yesterday.” Proceeds will benefit Saint
Mary’s Home and the Martin de Porres Society. Tickets are $15.00 per person.
Children’s activities will also be available with reservations, at $5.00 per child.
Tickets will be available after all weekend Masses at the church office.

Pro-Life Speaker
All are welcome to attend a presentation by Father Walter Quinn on the
“American Holocaust.” The Knights of Columbus will host the event on
January 29 at Council 631, in Savannah (comer of Liberty and Bull Streets).
A free dinner will be served from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The presentation will
begin at 8:00 p.m. Please RSVP no later than January 22 by phoning 912-897-

Quinn will also lead a prayer vigil at 34th and Abercom at 3:00 p.m. on
January 27.
Saint Frances Cabrini School Open House
Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic School, 11500 Middleground Road,
Savannah, will hold an open house on February 1 at 7:00 p.m. Interested
families are invited to a general meeting and tour of the school. Staff will be
present to answer questions.

Savannah Deanery Theology Seminar
Saint James Parish, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah,
will host the annual Savannah Deanery Theology Seminar
on Celtic Spirituality February 2-3. Registration begins
in the narthex at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the opening
prayer at 7:15 in the Church, followed by the first presen
tation at 7:30. On Saturday, registration of new partici
pants will take place at 9:00 a.m., followed by morning
prayer at 9:30, with presentations at 9:45 and 11:15. There
will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the last
presentation. The speaker is John O’Donohue, Ph.D., an
Irish poet, author and Catholic scholar whose books on Celtic spirituality, such
as Anam Cara and Eternal Echoes, are international bestsellers.
