Transitional Deacons ordained
Bishop J. Kevin Boland ordained seminarians Mike Ingram and
Steven Schraufnagel (above) as transitional deacons at Saint
Mary on the Hill Church, Augusta, on May 26. On June 2, the
bishop ordained 16 men to the permanent diaconate.
Three to be ordained to priesthood
T hree men, transistional deacons
for the past year, will be ordained
to the priesthood for the Diocese of
Savannah by Bishop J. Kevin Boland
on June 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.
Rev. Mr. Richard Hart is originally
from California and is 57 years old.
He worked as an engineer for Shell
Oil for 12 years out in California. In
1978 he moved to Augusta and
joined the Alleluia Community. In
1979 he converted to the Catholic
faith at the Church of the Most Holy
Trinity. He taught school and served
as the Dean of Boys at the Alleluia
Community School. Hart also ran a
special program called the Alleluia
Brotherhood from 1980 until 1997,
when he began his seminary studies.

Reverend Kim Son Nguyen, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Vietnames
Parish, Savannah, has been incardinated into the Diocese of Savannah in
accord with canon 267.
