BC/SVA present “Our Town”
Benedictine Military School and Saint Vincent’s
Academy will present Thornton Wilder’s Our Town
November 2-5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Benedictine ca-

Saint Boniface Dedication
Saint Boniface Church, 1952 GA Hwy. 21 S.,
Springfield, will celebrate the blessing of its new
multipurpose building and education center on No
vember 3, with Mass celebrated by Bishop J.
Kevin Boland at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
All clergy and laity are cordially invited to attend.
Blessed Sacrament Auction
Blessed Sacrament School will present Viva Las
Vegas on November 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the school’s
campus (comer of Victory Drive and Waters Ave
nue, Savannah). This annual school benefit features
heavy hors d’oeuvres and other culinary delights,
live casino games, live and silent auctions. Tickets
are limited ($25 in advance and $30 at the door).

Day of Reflection
The Office of African American Ministry will
hold a day of reflection, open to all, from 8:30 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. on November 4 at Saint Peter Claver
Church, 131 Ward St., Macon. The day will focus
on the theme of the National Black Catholic Con
gress X “Christ is with us; Celebrating the gifts of
the Sacraments.”

Rummage Sale
Saint Mary’s Home will hold a Rummage Sale on
November 4 from 9:00 a.m - noon at 2170 East
Victory Drive, Savannah. Household items, person
al items, holiday items, toys, books, clothes and
more will be available. All proceeds benefit Saint
Mary’s Home, a full time residential child care
facility covering 90 counties in southeast Georgia.

Ten Thousand Villages
Saint Teresa of Avila Parish, 4921 Columbia
Road, Grovetown, will host a ‘Ten Thousand Vil
lages Gift Festival” on November 4 from noon to
8:00 p.m. and November 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30
p.m. The festival benefits artisans from approxi
mately 32 Third World countries and their villages.

Blessing of Graves
November 5 is “Cemetery Sunday,” a time to visit
a cemetery, to remember and to pray for the dead.
In Savannah the annual Blessing of the Graves will
take place at the Catholic Cemetery on Wheaton
Street at 3:00 p.m. Those from the Savannah area
parishes who died during the past year will be
remembered during the ceremony, as well as all
deceased family members and friends.
Benedictine Oblates
The Benedictine Oblates of Savannah will meet
at the priory on the campus of Benedictine Military
School, 6502 Seawright Drive, on November 5 at
4:00 p.m. for Vespers and a discussion on
Benedictine Spirituality from guest speaker Abbot
Placid Solari, osb. A Potluck dinner will follow.

A Day at Aquinas
Aquinas High School will host “A Day ai. -^ui-
nas” on November 8 from 9:10 a.m. -11:45 a.m. in
the Aquinas Gymnasium, 1920 Highland Ave.,

visit filled with class visiu, games, tours, and pizza.

Bernard in Lectures
The University of South Carolina will offer its
8th annual Joseph Cardinal Bemardin Lectures
November 8-9. John Allen, prize-winning Vatican
correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter
since 1999, will discuss the topic “Live From the
Vatican: Recent Issues for the Church” at 7:30
on November 8, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in
downtown Columbia. On November 9, a sympo
sium will be held on the topic “Religion and the
Media” at 3:00 p.m. in Rutledge Chapel at USC.
Both events are free and open to the public.

Hispanic Youth And Youns Adult Coordinator: The Office
of Hispanic Ministry for the Catholic Diocese of
Savannah is seeking a Coordinator for Hispanic Youth
and Young Adults. Responsibilities include promoting
evangelization and pastoral care of diocesan Hispanic
youth and young adults, and building bridges between
various diocesan cultural groups. The individual will
work under the direct supervision of the Director of
Hispanic Ministry, and in collaboration with the
Diocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry;
working to Involve Hispanic youth in the general min
istry of the Diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult
Ministry. Minimum requirements: 1. Five years experi
ence working with Hispanic Youth and Young Adult
Ministry; 2. Lay Ministry Certification in Youth and Young
Adult Ministry; 3. College degree; 4. Verbal and written
fluency in both Spanish and English; 5. Experience work
ing with regional, national and International Hispanic
Youth and Young Adult Ministry Organizations; 6. Able to
travel and stay overnight within the Diocese of
