Harry George was elected president
of the Bethesda Alumni Association by
members who submitted their ballots
by mail during the month of December,
1946. Harry succeeds Fred Schafer
who served the club for the years
1945 and 1946.
Other officers elected were: Drexel
J. Kicklighter, vice president; Edwin O.
Clements, of Jacksonville, honorary vice
president; Raymond LaMon, treasurer;
Thomas W. Moore, secretary; and the
Rev. Thomas J. White, chaplain. Ray¬
mond LaMon and Tom Moore were re¬
elected.
At our meeting of January 28 the
president together with other officers
of the club appointed the following com¬
mittees to serve during the year.
Executive: Harry George, chairman;
B. F. Diamond, Rev. Thmias J. White.
Entertainment: Fred Shafer, chair¬
man; Sefton Williams, John Anchors.

The Entertainment Committee had
their meeting immediately following the
regular meeting and planned two en¬
tertainments on through April. The
first entertainment will be an oyster
supper at the “Oyster Shell” on Satur¬
day night, Washington’s birthday, Feb¬
ruary 22nd. Supper will be served from
8 to 12 p. m. This is an outing for
members, their families and friends
as a social get-to-gether. All attend-

penses. Please notify secretary or a
member of the Entertainment Com¬
mittee before February 19th if you
will attend and how many will be in
your party.
Our biggest entertainment will be
our Annual Aniversary Dance which
will be held on Tuesday night, April
22 at the Hotel Savannah. The next
day all of the Alumni will gather with
the boys at Bethesda to help share in
their activities. That night, April 23,
the Alumni will have their Annual An¬
niversary Banquet.
Tickets will be distributed to mem¬
bers, at least five tickets to each mem¬
ber. Members are urged to either sell
or be responsible for five tickets. With
100 Savannah members we could at
least take in $500.00.
All Alumni members in Savannah
and other cities are especially urged
and expected to attend our Annual Ban¬
quet. Let’s make this the largest ban¬
quet in attendance since 1940. We
should with so many of the boys that
served in the last war home and at
work again.
