February, 1949 DEATHS : . x ■ ’.x : Picture Courtesy Savannah Morning News. NORMAN L. RICHARDSON—Nor¬ man L. Richardson, assistant cashier of the Citizens and Southern National Bank died suddenly at his residence, 1018 Seiler Avenue, in June 1948. Mr. Richardson began his banking career with the Citizens and Southern in October, 1915, as runner, and later held positions in various departments. He was general ledger book-keeper at the time he was elected president of the Citizens and Southern Club in 1989. When the new bank offices opened on the south side he was made assistant cashier. He enjoyed great popularity among the bank’s customers. He was affiliated with church and Masonic organizations, having been past master of Solomon’s Lodge No. 1, F. ami A. M He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Richardson; one daughter, Mrs. A. Garrett Jennings, Savannah, and two bi others, Olson C. and William B. Rich¬ ardson of Jacksonville, Fla . Funeral Services were held at the Trinity Methodist Church with the Rev. George E. Clary, pastor, conducting the funeral. Burial was held in the Green¬ wich section of Bonaventure Cemetery. Active pallbearers were W. Harry Smith, W. T. Knight, Jr., C. G. Mc¬ Call, N- Rountree Youmans, W. F. Frazier and Earl P. Jones. Honorary pallbearers were members of the board of trustees of Trinity Church, the board of stewards of Trinty Church, officers of the Citizens and Southern Bank, the ritualistic team of Alee Temple, nobles of the Mystic Shrine, the trustees of Robert McIntyre Memorial Church and W. H. Saffold, S. A. Nelson, Mills B. Lane, Jr., Judge B. B. Herry, Judge Alex R. MacDonnell, Dr. C. A. Henderson, Harry Carter, A. A. McCurry, T. A, Cowart, C. W. Bart and A. S. Varn. Mr. Richardson known as Laddie to all former Bethesda boys that were in Bethesda when he was there was a most active member of the Bethesda Alumni association. , BETHESDA NEWS DR. HENRY A. JASME—Dr. Jasme, former Savannahian and veteranarian in Waycross for the past five years, died in July 1948. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mildred Clements Jasme, who is making their home in Hollywood. Cal., with their two daughters Miss Yvonne Jasme and Miss Barbara Jasme. Yvonne uses Connie Haines as her stage name. SOUTHWOOD S I D N E Y SMITH— Funeral services was held in July, 1948, for Mr. Smith, 71, native South Caro¬ linian who died at his residence 2115 Price St., after an illness of three years. Coming to Savannah in 192(5, Mr. Smith worked with Savannah Sugar Refinery and the quartermaster depot before re¬ tiring.. Mr. Smith is the father of J. C. Smith. MRS. LOIS HART HINELY Mrs. Lois Hart Hinely, wife of Walter W. Hinely, Savannah Lawyer, died in Oc¬ tober at her residence. 1522 Abercorn St., after an illness of three months. Mrs. Hinely was a teacher at Thirty-Eighth Street School ami had lived in Savannah all her life. Services were conducted from the Lutheran Church of the As¬ cension with the pastor, the Rev. Ray¬ mond D. Wood, officiating. Burial was in Bonaventure, FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT HUNT— Funeral services were held in November for Franklin Roosevelt Hunt, 15, of seven miles from Savannah on the Ogeechee Road. Franklin died of in¬ juries sustained while playing a pick-up game of football during recess at Wash¬ ington Avenue Junior High School, where he was in the eighth grade. Serv¬ ices were conducted at Garden City Baptist Church by the Rev. James R. Reed. Franklin was brother of Pat H. Beach. HENRY T. HUL1N—Henry T. Hulin, superintendent of the Mexican Petroleum Company of Georgia, former alderman and former chairman of the board of managers of the Public Library, died in October, 1948. His death occurred in a local hospital following a long illness. Mr. Hulin was a member of the Be thesda-Union Society. WILLIAM H. TEASDALE—William H. Teasdale, superintendent of the Savan¬ nah Cotton and Naval Stores Exchange for 35 years, died on January 14, after a brief illness at his residence, 537 Maupas Avenue. Mr. Teasdale had suffered a broken hip several months earlier and was con¬ fined to the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mr. Teasdale was a member of the Union Society. M. O. He was founder and president of the fertilizer brokerage firm of E. S .Nash and Com¬ pany. He died in October 1948. ABE S. GUCKENHEIMER. Mr. Guck heimer, former alderman and theatre owner died on January 14.. Mr. Guck enheimer was a great friend of the boys at Bethesda and probably was one of the first theater owners that began the practice of giving passes to boys at Bethesda and to other children of the city homes. Reason for marriages, deaths, sick¬ ness, etc being late this issue is because Tom Moore, editor, was ill himself in the Candler Hospital for two months and has been trying to get caught up since with the work connected with this and his other duties. SICKNESS—Continued Continued from Page 4 Raymond LaMon, now with the Citi¬ zens and Southern Bank, Atlanta, Ga., had another operation on his leg, was hospitalized for a month, his leg was put in a cast. Raymond then spent a month with his brother, James ,in Jack¬ sonville, Fla., He has recovered suf¬ ficiently enough to be back at work. A. D, Turner, Atlanta, Ga., had an operation several months ago and is better. He lives at 651 Ormewood Ave., S. E. Mrs. Mary Belle Bailey, mother of Denny and John Ashley, has been ill for sometime and is at her home, 612 East 58th Street. Frank L. Elliott—Paul G.
