Men’s Dorm Council Is In Full Operation
By DAVID HIGHTOWER
Three days before the stu
dents began arriving on cam
pus, the proctors and officers
of the men’s dormitories' met
with Mr. R- D. Perritt to make
plans for a new approach to
campus living. This new plan
centered around the idea that
ail regulations, rules and cam
pus living activities should be
uniform and campus wide.
- "You hear about the teen-age
girl who’s been trying for weeks
to run away from home?”
"No, what about her?”
“Every time she gets to the
door, the phone rings.”

This pre - planning made
orientation week much easier.
Since the regulations concern
ing dormitory living were al
ready established when the
dormitories opened, it was pos
sible to begin operation with
out the usual problems that oc
cur at the first of a quarter.
One of the major functions of
the Dormitory Council has been
ihe planning of campus-wide
parties sponsored by each of
the dormitories. By coordination
of these plans and ideas, the
different dormitories have been
able to make extensive plans
for activities throughout the I
year.
The Dormitory Council has
endeavored to plan for a suc
cessful year for every student.
This is a big job, however, and
the council is depending on the
help and co-operation of every
student and faculty member.
The Council is especially look
ing forward to the participation
of the off-campus students this
%ear. These students are as
much a part of M.G.C. life as
the dormitory students. The
Dormitory Council is every
student’s opportunity to improve
campus living at Middle Geor
gia College. ' i
