THE PARKING PROBLEM
mnumtUHiiiiniiiiiiiii
By Warren McKinney, Editor
Many students misuse the
parking lot areas which re
sults in this problem. Male
students from Asbury, Roush,
Mackey, Holland, and any
other off campus apartments
are not suppose to use these
parking areas at all. All girl
students having cars have been
assigned to a space and are
to use only that which is for
their car.
Students that complain of the'
distance that they must walk
to and from parking areas are
not being realistic. There is
no closer possible parking
area. Believe it or not, the
distance is farther and finding
parking spaces is even more
difficult at other schools. (Try
Georgia)
The only realistic complaint
that students could possibly
have is the fact that the new
parking lot has not been black
topped or paved. However,
no one has complained about
this.
This situation will only be
as the college grows. The
bigger a college gets, the
more problems it will have.
Students must cooperate with
the administration because it
has handled this matter with
the utmost care. Students
must also realize that the
administration is concerned
about this problem but there
is not anything that can be
done to lessen it now.

Parking (auto), seems to
be one of the major problems
facing Middle Georgia College
students. Finding a space to
park is quite a task some
times. The faculty as well
as the students are concerned
about this problem.
There is not enough park
ing places provided for all
students with cars. The
busiest hours for the
parking lots are from 8 a.m.
to 1 p.m. when the day students
are at school.
Parking Lot F which is
located behind Talmadge and
New Men’s dormitories, gen
erally is overflowing during
iMs period. Many students
who cannot find parking
spaces here have begun to
park along Second and Third
Streets and at the Cochran
Community House, This park
ing is permissible but in
convenient.
A new parking lot has been
constructed behind the old
baseball field. Many of the
students complain of the dis
tance being too far to walk
to class. Surprisingly, it is
only about sixty steps farther
to Walker Hall from the new
parking lot than it is from the
corner of parking lot F. The
Science Building and Morris
Gymnasium are closer from
the new parking lot than from
the corner of narkins lot F.

PAUL: Death
Rumor,
Or Publicity
By: Sam Magruder
Is Paul McCartney dead?
Rumors have been flying
across college campuses for
the last month and a half.
Students have been dissecting
the symbolizm on the Beat
les’ Album covers attempting
to find an answer.
Although the rumor seems
dubious at best (it seems hard
to believe that the world press
would have missed a scoop if
Paul had really died), agroup
of researchers spentan entire
night psyching out the possi
bilities. They reported the
following evidence garnered
from the albums.
“Magical Mystery Tour”
On the cover, Paul is wearing
a walrus mask. The lyrics
of “I am a Walrus’’ seem to
imply that the walrus is dead.
In a later album, we are told
that the “walrus is Paul.”
Paul is walking barefoot
on the cover. Dead men do
not wear shoes.
There is a picture inside
the album of the Beatles wear
ing white tuxedos. John,
George, and Ringo are wearing
red carnations — Paul is
wearing a black one.
“Sgt. Pepper” In the right
corner of the cover, there is
a grave. On the grave is a
bust of Paul’s father and a
trophy that Paul won as a boy.
A left handed bass guitar
is adorned with flowers that
spell out Paul’s name. Paul
is (or was) left handed.
There Is a hand raised over
Paul's head. Could it be the
hand of death?
On the back cover of the
album, three Beatles are
facing front. Paul is facing
back.
“Abbey Road” One-quarter
of the “s” of the word Beat
les is chopped off.
In the pictures of the Bea
tles walking across a street,
Paul is out of step.
Paul is holding his cigarette
in his right hand. Again, Paul
was left handed.
Paul is again barefooted.
Abbey Road is the name of
IK a cemetery in England.
In another picture, John is
dressed in white like a doctor.
Ringo is dressed in black
like a mortician. Paul is

On October 29, the Supreme
Court, in a case involving 33
Mississippi school districts
declared that separate dual
school systems for black and
white students was unconsti
tutional and required them
to desegregate “at once.”
This ruling by the Supreme
Court was considered by most
government officials as a
“slap In the face” for the
Nixon Administration which
had had declared that they
would continue to desegregate
“with all deliberate speed.”
The Nixon Administration had
been seeking an integration
delay, but the Supreme Court
refused to grant it
The Supreme Court vote
was unanimous - 8 to 0. One
of the ironies of this decision
was that Warren E. Burger,
the new Chief Justice ap-

dressed in grey like a dead
man.
The white car’s license
plate on the left of the front
reads 28 IF. Paul wouldbe28
if he is still living.
The license of the police
car read backwards gives the
number of the best look-alike
of Paul in a contest held three
years ago.
To add to the evidence,
Linda Eastman, who married
Paul, formerly dated Paul’s
brother. Is it possible that
his brother is impersonating
the famous Beatle? His bro
ther was in a car accident,
and it is possible that he
had plastic surgery and has
been passing as Paul.
Why would the Beatles want
more money through publicity
of this? Understandably, they
want all of their albums to be
million sellers.
Recently, it was announced
over radio that Paul is alive,
but who was the one who said
this. The reason for Paul
not being seen was because he
was supposedly sick.
“life” magazine, in a
recent issue, commented that
Paul has just wanted to drop
out and spend time with his
wife. Which story is right?

PAULY
We have lost him
He is fallen
Fuzzy, freaky Pauly,
Dead and gone.
He once sang and played
And once was very fair,
But ended in an accident
And thusly lost his hair.
The managers tried to imi
tate him,
But the others gave us guides
and signs
But we did not want to know,
and so,
Were left, unfeeling and blind.
But now the truth is out
For all the world to see
Playing, singing Pauly
Has left and gone to sea,
We have lost him
He is fallen
Fuzzy, freaky Pauly

voted against the stand of the
man who appointed him. It
is on this forte that the Su
preme Court is based -- free
from the fear of those who
put you in office.
The Supreme Court has re
ceived much criticism in the
last few weeks — particularly
from the deep South where
conservatives for the last fif
teen years have been moving
very slowly - if at all - in
their desegregation of
schools.
It is a sad commentary of
our time that $he freedom of
the individual expressed in our
founding documents is up to
this very year denied to some
American citizens. Yet, for
all those who praise our sys
tem and support our belief
in democracy, equality and
freedom, our country has not
lived up to some of its pro
found beliefs: slavery existed
until 1863, women were not
allowed to vote until 1920,
and it was not until 1954 that
our country decided to out
law segregation in schools,
but In such vague terras that
it has still existed up to 1969-
Even today discrimination
still exists in this free
country. Has our system rea
lly lived up to its belief in
the freedom of every Ameri
can citizen?
The Supreme Court ruling
is a good step in the right
direction. Even with this ru
ling, segregation will continue
to exist in many different
ways. Perhaps the next needed
step will be an attempt to e nd
the widely practiced de facto
segregation in the North.
