Among the well known and progres sive retail establishments in the city none are more worthy of special men tion in this, our annual industrial edi tion, than R. HERMAN COAL AND WOOD CO. The Herman Coal and Wood Com pany is one of our most reliable con cerns and their business has grown to large proportions, owing to the splendid manner in which they nave conducted all the details of the busi ness. The public always feel that in dealing with this company they will get courteous treatment and a fair deal. The wage-earners as well as the public generally extend their lib eral support, and in so doing tney ad vance their own interests. Ik estimating the strength of Savannah as a great industrial center, all due credit should be accorded to the Her man Coal and Wood Company, which stands in the front rank of the sub stantial, progressive enterprises of the city. They are sole agents for the justly celebrated Montevallo lump soft coal. HENDERSON BROTHERS. Foremost in the undertaking busi ness of Savannah is the firm of Hen derson Brothers, located at 220 Dray ton street. This firm is no stranger to the hosts of labor in this section. For many years they have been lo cated in our midst and during that time they have built up a reputation for square and reliable dealings sec ond to none in the South. Tney are decidedly popular with the wage-earn ers of the city, and have always been noted for their painstaking and ex pert service combined with a disposi tion to treat the public with the great est courtesy and consideration. The firm of Henderson Brothers is one of the substantial and firmly established concerns of great merit tnat are do ing business on a large scale in Sa vannah. They are amply equipped un dertakers and they conduct a first class, up-to-date establishment and treat the public right. THE KNIGHT DRUG CO. This concern has done much to make Savannah known for the large number of reliable concerns doing business here. Their goods are of the very highest and most desirable grades that are produced from any company, and our workingmen and the general nubile will make no mistake in giv ing them all the support they can. Theus & Company have shown themselves impressed by the earnest uesire of labor advocates to advance the labor organizations, and have by tact and courtesy and thoroughly re liable dealings made a host of friends among the working people. M. BLUMBERG & SONS. It has been our aim in this issue to make an accurate list of those pro gressive and public-spirited firms that have kept pace with the times, anu firms that have by fair and honorable business methods, able and efficient service, won the esteem and confluence of all classes of people. In presenting this list we have no hesitancy in plac ing the name of M. Blumberg & Sons foremost on the list prominent among the progressive dealers of Savanna... They have built up an immense busi ness and made a host of friends among the union men of the city and the general public. They are extensive dealers in dry goods, snoes and no tions. JOSEPH GALIN, Successor to Farley & Galin Foremost among the business estab lishments of Savannah which com bine to give it its metropolitan char acter, we desire to place the name of Joseph Galin, successor to Farley & Galin. In the transaction of tne great volume of their business we are pleased to note that they are held in the highest esteem, not only by their employes, to whom they accord the most fair and courteous treatment, but also to conservative organiezd labor in Savannah and throughout the section. It is a pleasure to know that this firm takes such a kindly interest in labor. This establishment is of great material benefit to the city, whose population is so largely made up of workingmen.
