CLARK PANTHER
Sigma Aurora Club
In Chapel Program
The Aurora Club of Gamma Chapter,
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority presented its
initial chapel program on Monday
morning, May 14, in Davage Auditorium.
Theme of the progarm was, “The Impor
tance of Talent.”
Mrs. Lois Belton Kenney, guest of the
Aurora Club, rendered several dramatic
readings. Mrs. Kenney is Dramatics In
structor at Morris Brown College.
Miss Dorothy Livingston, sophomore, Queen of the May, is escorted
by Dean Harold Mazyck at the May Day Festival on May 5. Standing
under the arch is Miss Lois Willmore, Morris Brown’s May Queen.
Remember there are ten sure ways to
smash any organization. It is up to you
to avoid these practices:
1. Don’t come to meetings.
2. If you come, come late.
3. If the weather dosen’t suit you, don’t
think of coming.
4. If you attend a meeting, find fault
with the work of the officers and the oth
er members.
5. Never accept office, as it is easier to
criticize than to do things.
6. Nevertheless, get rebellious if you
are not appointed on a committee meet
ing.
6. If asked by the chairman to give
your opinion regarding some important
matters, reply that you have nothing to
say. After the meeting tell everyone how
it ought to be done.
Deltas and Omegas
Hold Spring Formal
In the last formal fraternal dance of
the year Beta Psi chapter of Omega Psi
Phi and Sigma chapter of Delta Sigma
Theta played host and hostess to over
two-hundred guests at the Annual Delta-
Omega Ball, in Thayer Recreation Hall
on May 18.
Decorated in the colors of Delta and
Omega, Thayer Hall was the scene of one
of the most colorful and entertaining
fraternal dances of the year as the couples
danced to the rare treat of organ music
furnished by the ten piece band which
rendered a program of exceptionally well
rounded selections.
This year marks the birth of a Clark
Chapter of the Sigma Gamma Rho Soror
ity. Miss Estella Dixon is its founder.

president, Dorothy M. Hunter; secretary,
Doris T. Harrison; keeper of scrapbook.
Mary L. McNear; treasurer, Alice R.
Leigh; chairman of program committee,
Theresa I. Jones; reporter, Earlene Walk
er; chaplain, Willie M. Owens.

do this, we’ll forever be students on the
limb. In asking for privileges it is only
fair to ask for those that are within rea
son.
Try to remember this in September,
rather than think in terms of yourself all
the time. Why not think of something that
will make Clark a better place for you
and yours to follow? When you leave
Clark, by one process or the other, you
will be labeled as a Clark man or wom
an. You will have to live with people and
they will recognize you according to
Clark products. Do you want to be identi
fied as the student wlho danced every
night in the week and lounged on the
grass all during the day, or would you
rather be placed in the catagory with oth
er scholars? That’s just a thought for the
day; you can decide it. We have tried to
serve you constructively, of course many
of the things you wanted can’t be placed
in a constructive atmosphere. As we
bow out, we congratulate those coming
in and wish them the best of luck.
8. Do nothing more than is absolutely
necessary, when other members roll up
their sleeves and willingly and unself
ishly use their ability to help.
9. Hold back your dues as long as pos
sible, or don’t pay at all,
10. Don't bother about getting new
members, let George do it.
