A few minutes ago, I read chapter two in the book of
Luke,
It is the story of the birth of Christ, Whom I know not
how he looks.
In my mind His picture I have tried to reproduce,
But I did not see his face, Although 1 felt Him so close.
1 leaned back against the sofa, and thought how Jesus
was born,
His parents walked all over the town, looking for a
room.
They looked here and everywhere, even in the shep
herd’s hut,
But they found no room, except in the stable at last.
1 thought of Christmas and Jesus in the world today,
And wondered if there is any heart where Jesus can
come and stay.
Yes, I saw Jesus knocking at the door of some colored
people,
But they shouted at Him, “No, no! We don’t’ like pale
people!”
Then I saw him standing by the door of a white family,
He seemed to be cold, tired, weak, and very hungry,
The same thing happened—I heard the people shout
and say,
“Hey Blacky!” “Where do you think you are going? Go
away!”
Later on I saw him standing by the door of an oriental
home,
There again, Jesus Christ did not find any room,
For Buddha, Mohammed and other gods have taken
all rooms—
Yes, the home is sure crowded with superstitions.
Again 1 saw him by the door of a rich family,
They told Him to leave for everyone else is busy,
“Come some other time!” 1 heard them say,
Yes, no time for Jesus—all time for money.
And then I saw Jesus by the door of the so called
Christians,
But they told Him as everyone else had done,
Their hearts were pre-occupied, and their minds were
busy—
Thinking what to get for Christmas, and what to get
for Johnny.
The same kind of story since that year in Bethlehem,
The Jesus Christ cannot find any room in the kin,
The situation might be different, but the result‘i? the
same—- .
Jesus our Savior, cannot find any room in the Inn.
