Campus Speaks Out
QUESTION: How has inflation affected you?
James A. Taitt II, Junior, Poli. Sci.
It put me out of a job. It raised the cost of an edu
cation which I already couldn’t afford and food it so
high that I have to resort to other means to keep my
refrigerator full.
Phyllis Oliver, 19, senior, Drama.
It has affected me in every way. Food, rent, you
name it I need it. I can’t afford to buy anything. I guess
I’ll have to get three or four jobs to survive.
Herbert Lewis, 21, Senior, Economics
“It has decreased my purchasing power. As a student,
I didn’t have nothing from jump street. I’ve had to re
budget myself. I’ve had to give up some things.”
Beverly Myers, 20, junior, Bus. Adm.
I can’t afford to wash clothes. I can’t get any money
from home because they can’t afford to send any so I’m
just here squeezing pennies.
