VOLUME I No. 4 ATLANTA, GA October 4, 1993/FREE CAU-TV Gets Head Start On Fall Season By Franchella Slater Staff Writer The CAU-TV (Channel 3) cablecast station GCTV jump- started the fall season on Septem ber 27. This year’s season will premiere What’s Going On, Culture Free dom, The Charlie Moore Show and Utterance On The Edge. It also will be returning with the popular fa vorites like Fitness Attitude, The Show and Entertainment Extra. Once again the host/producer duo of Randy Marshal and Mike McIn tosh are teaming up to bring view ers the hottest sounds from local artist, current events, entertainment and sports on The Show. Marshal said that during the warmer months, the rap program will be taped more on location. In the winter months The Show will be shot indoors and will include a studio audience. According to Marshal, The Show gives underground rap artists a chance to debut their music. “Not that we dislike Kriss Kross, but we mainly want to feature new talent. We are true to hip-hop,” he said. Guest appearances and video re leases by Cypress Hill, Funk Dubi ous and House of Pain and other artists will be included in the show ’ s continued p. 2 Two Teens Stabbed In Confrontation Two teenagers were stabbed on the way to school after a confrontation on the school bus. The 15- year- old boy suffered wounds to his buttocks and was in stable condition. The other victim was treated and released. The confrontation began when a 15-year- old boy and a 13-year-old girl began to fight as the bus approached a stop at East Ponce De Leon Avenue. When three other men intervened, the girl and boy produced knives. The two knifed teens were not harmed, but were charged with aggravated assault. Two other teens were charged with fighting in a public place. The teens are apparently stu dents of Clarkston High School. (Information complied from the Atlanta Journal Constitution.) The quake occured approximately 620 miles southeast of Bombay and was the largest to hit southern India in 25 years. Marshall.” CALIFORNIA: A mother of four killed a Denny’s patron with a 12-gauge shot gun after an arguement over smoking. Daphnye Luster shot Rachell Rashan Houston in the head after the two had argued about Luster’s lighting a cigarette in the non-smoking section. A jury ruled Wednesday that Ellie Nessler was sane when she shot Daniel Mark Driver in a Jamestown courtroom last April. Nessler faces up to 16 years in prison for the murder of her son’s alleged molester. ALABAMA: At a press conference held Thursday, Mercedes-Benz announced that the city of Vance will be the sight of its first U.S. assembly plant. OREGON: A German motorist, driving cross-country to visit relatives, was shot and killed at a highway rest stop.
