ATLANTA BARB-Page 10 Chattanooga Chatter Sorry we missed you last month, but your writer just couldn’t get it together in time for the last deadline. Oh, well, shall we try again?. Seems like every time we'turn around, there’s another pag eant to be participated in/or attend. March 8th was the date and the Cumberland Delta Queen was the setting for the Miss Gay Tennessee pageant. Representing Chattanooga very well this year wereCher- ice Nicole, Amber Synclair (Miss Gay Chattanooga ’74), Misti Dawn, Trisha Danelli, and Diana Carter The win ner was surprisingly enough from Nashville and a bartend er at the Delta Queen The pageant was fun and the talent was tremendous. Of course, our own Daisy Dalton was there to add to the success and highlighted the evening when she crowned Jamie Sum mers, Miss Gay Tennessee 1974. Daisy’s done a lot of crowning lately. I wonder wholl be next? I don’t know how populai streaking is where you are, but it’s growing here. Recently, a well known Chattanooga “vampire” streaked through a local bar and on a dare. I could have told them not to dare him. He’s likely to do almost anything. Dogwood '74 Speaking of “doing,” Trisha Dandii would like to announce her desire for a real Atlanta man. And speaking of Trisha, there’s a gay band forming in which she will be lead drum mer, or organist And, believe me, from what I hear she can really beat thoseskins and play the organ very wdl. The “new Powder Puff” is well on its way to opening ^t 28 E. Main St, on May S'rd. Bobby Sue and Ronnie ]*ave literally worked jheir asseg off with just a little help from their friends. Honestly, the new place is much more ele gant >- it will not only be a frice show bar, but a restaur ant as well. We already miss the.old location ~ we miss the Quickie next door and I would readily suppose that quite a few of our regulars miss bdng so close to f214 at the Pat ten. I’ve even heard that oui local “red neck” was caught coming down in he elevator 214 must be something. Last flash of news! C.C. has visited thelocaljail house again on charges of indecent expo sure ana she wasn’t even on stage - nor was she streaking. She was just getting a little sun in her own way. Til next time,, your favorit “fag hag’ signing off and say ing “if it feds good - do it.’ Kathy Continued from page 4 which the final bike events were held, the Easter Egg hunt and the Enduro. The Texas Riders of Houston hosted the Sunday morning cocktail party after which brunch was served follow ed by the awards ceremon ies. Tops awards went to The Pride of Chicago and the Wranglers of Dallas. Other awards went to members of virually ev ery club represented, a real tribute to the part icipation of all in this fun filled event. If you’ve never attended an outdoor motorcycle e- vent you don’t know what vou’ve missed. Just ask my of the nearly fifteen focal independants who did all right for themselves in all categories. This is a very diffi cult and profound ques tion. If the parents are truly homosexual, then the children must of necessity be adopted. If the chi Id does not icauti of uie parents homosexuality, they can he is only 19, ne Has aone probably more thanmosttwen- ty-five year olds. Mike’s greatest ambition is to be able to break into “big time” pro baseball, and I am sure that with his self confi dence and personality, it will be very easy for him. Doctor probably raise “normal” children. Obviously the outside world is heterosex ual and I feel that any child exposed to homosexua lity must become confused. Q. Can Psychiatric treat ment help change a true homosekuai? From a practical view point, very few homo sexuals respond to psychi atric "therapy. Whether it’s the “fault” of the psychiatric treatment or the fact that the per son hirrself doesn’t really want to change is argu mentative. Are You The Jealous Type? by Jose Gaye Jealousy is natural to human beasts and selfish dogs. Anyone who owns a dog or a cat knows it craves exclusive attention Where a dog is concerned, such craving is somewhat ju stifled because, after all, it is owned even if it doesn’t realize it. But humans don’t own each other, or at least they’re notsupposed to. Thus, jealousy is not based on pure self interest There’s no concern for the loved one’s joy or happiness. That he or she is having a good time makes no difference. In fact, Ithe more joy enjoyed, the worse it seems to the jealous partner. He visualizes in his mind’s eye all of the sensual and erotic pumping taking place and turns blind with rage. He can’t bear the thought that pleasure exists outside of his own ex perience He doesn’t stop to think that his lover’s' widened experience may, in fact, con tribute to his own pleasure and excitement After all we must have times when we are out going in order to enjoy our life at home Whether we talk with Dthers, play with others, read books by others or whatever, all of it helps to make us more exciting company for those who are closest to us. If you’re stung by jealousy, try looking at things from an other viewpoint If you try to; hold onto your lover too tight ly while you’re dancing your dance will be clumsy. If you are tense and tight, rather than loose and free, you’ll step all over your partner’s feet. At the same time; if you are good company, your lover woiil want to dance too far away from you. He won’t get lost in the crowd. He’ll be lingering aearby, always eager to touch you, happiest when he sees the smile or pleasure he’s capable of evoking in your face. He loves you, and is hap piest when you’re happy. He wants you to be happy first and foremost And, of course, you want the same for him. Your own selfish interests 3X6 not nearly as important Your own silly rgo is forgotten simp ly because your exclusivepride in ownership is dead - or should be! You don’t own his body. He doesn’t own yours.Let him do with his body whatever he wishes and you 11 find, if you don’t press die issue, that he’s likely to prefer you to £ny other That’s why he’s your lover, isn’t it? It’s important to keep in mind however, that sexual freedom, like any freedom, can be mis used. In the name of sexual liberation many unfortunates are unkind and hateful to each other. Sexual adventures out side are not used to enhance the quality of home life, but rather to “get back” or retal iate sexually. A dolt who does this is the sort who says, “You had your fling last night, so I’m going to have mine to night” Or,‘ you f— Bill, now I’m going to f—John,thehand- some guy youcouldn’tgetyour paws on. , ADVERTISE IN THE BARB Metropolitan Community Church 800 North Highland Avenue, N.
