Monday evening, May 6th, Miami Beach’s Marco Polo Hotel un veiled the 1974 edition of “the female impersona tors” Miss Florida Pageant now in its’ third year. Produced by Keith Enterprises and co directed by Michael St. Laurent and Jerry Day, the third annual event proved itself, once again, to be a glittering success from start to finish. Long before the eurtain went up, the festivities began as a capacity crowd jammed the Marco Polo’s plush Persian Room. The audience itself, one of the most regal in Miami Beaches 74 season, served as an overture to the event. Decked in evening attire that ranged from basic black pearls to beaded turbans, je weled tuexdos and se- quined kaftans; The Pageant was kicked off with a rocking all male dance number introducing one of the two emcees for the evening. Kevin McManus. Mr. McManus went on to introduce an impressive array of judges including enter tainers Tubby Boots, Billie Boots. Midge Miller, famed impres- sario of the Jewel Box Revue - Danny Brown, and entertainment editor - Jane Florczak. With the formalaties completed, the offical host and emcee Michael St. Laurent, popular local female impersonator, en tered amid a fanfare of top dancing and fast strut ting escorts to begin the evening competition.
