New York City.—The National Council of Jewish Women will be rep resented at the World Conference of Jewish Women which will meet in Hamburg, Germany, on June 4th and 5th, by its Executive Secretary, Es telle M. Sternberger, according to an nouncement made by Mrs. Joseph E. Friend, its President. Other Council officers who will attend the Confer ence are Mrs. Francis D. Poliak of New' York City, Chairman of its De partment of Vocational Guidance and Employment; and Mrs. Amanda Seh- lesinger of San Francisco, one of its National Directors. Mrs. Alexander Kohut, of New York City, one of the honorary Vice I resi dents of the National Council of Jew ish Women, is President of the World Conference of Jewish Women and will preside over its sessions. Mrs. Stern berger is a member of the Executive Committee which had been named at the meeting of the World ( (inference of Jewish Women in Vienna, in May, 1923. Mrs. Nathaniel E. Harris, of Bradford, Pennsylvania, honorary Vice President of the Council, is also a member of the Executive Commit tee. It was very interesting to note the progress made during the past year by the reports of the various com mittee chairmen. A beautiful tribute was made to Miss Helen Seff, president, by Miss Perle Bokritzky, on behalf of the or ganization. for her untiring efforts and loyal devotion to Junior Hadas- sah, and to each individual member. The officers elected for the ensuing year: Miss Rae Rosenberg, president; Miss Polly Gershon, first vice presi dent; Miss Gladys Shuman, second vice president; Miss Rose Schreiber, corresponding secretary; Miss Lillian Esse r man, assistant corresponding secretary; Miss Lillian Esserman, as sistant corresponding secretary; Miss Frances Heilman, recording secre tary; Miss Gertrude Wald, treasurer; Miss Perle Bokritzky, honorary edi tor of I he Alarm Clock; Miss Eva I Ladas, editor of The Alarm Clock, and Miss Rosalee Boorstein, assistant editor. The annual convention of Junior Hadassah will be held this year in De troit, Mich., on July 2, 3 and 4. The delegates who will represent the At lanta chapter: Miss Rae Rosenberg, Miss Polly Gershon, Miss Fannie Ko- lodkin and Miss Sara Gershon. •oiss Gail MacDonald entertained the members, their mothers and friends with several readings, and Miss Regina Ungar rendered a violin solo, accompanied by Miss Geffen. CHAPTER OF SENIOR HADASSAH ORGANIZED IN MACON, GA. On the afternoon of March 4 a num ber of ladies had the pleasure of meet ing Mrs. Henry Winer, of Chatta nooga, and Mrs. Louis J. Levitas, of Atlanta. These ladies who were for tunate enough to hear Mrs. Winer’* message about Hadassah were so in spired that they decided to organize a chapter of Hadassah and temporary officers were elected. About twenty ladies attended the first meeting which was held the la?: Wednesday in March at the Hotel Dempsey. Officers for the year were elected and chairmen of the various committees as follows: Mrs. B. M. Goldgar, president. Mrs. Henry Koplin. vice-president. Mrs. Sol Schwartz, second vice-pres ident. On account of the Passover holidays there was no meeting in April. The next meeting will be held may 29.
