J. Haas was called home from a business trip on account of the illness of his wife, who is tak ing a rest cure at Davis-Fisher sani- torium. Mrs. Kugenc Oberdorfer, Sr., is in Florida. LEOPOLD HAAS AT HOSPITAL Mrs. Leopold J. Haas, wife of Leo pold Haas, well-known Atlanta insur ance man, is convalescing at the I)a- vis-Fischer hospital, following a re cent illness. She has been confined to the hospital since last Monday. Mr. Edward M. Kahn, executive di rector of the Jewish Alliance is in Atlantic City to attend the conven tion of the National Social Service Workers. Miss Rae Rosenberg has returned to her home after an illness following an appendicitis operation at the St. Joseph’s Infirmary. Mrs. Frank Gottesman and daugh ter, Joy, are in New York City. Of interest to a host of friends throughout the South is the announce ment of the wedding of Miss Dora Mandel and Mr. John Seheer which takes place Sunday, June 2. Follow ing the ceremony the bride and groom will leave for an extended trip to Cali fornia. Miss Reine Kahn has returned to her home in New Orleans. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hirsch are on a fishing trip in Florida. Mr. Leonard Wise, of Birmingham, spent several days in the city last week. Mrs. David Wise and daughter Eleanor are leaving for New York and other points East. Mr. Jack Saks, of Pineville, Ky., was a recent guest in the city. Mr. and Mrs. A. Shulhafer and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gibbeon, of Savannah, spent several days last week in the city. Mrs. Herman Cohen, of Dallas, Texas, is expected June 16 to spend a month with her sisters, Mrs. M. L. Hirsch and Mrs. S. A. Visanska. The friends of Mr. C. D. Schwartz are sympathizing with him in the death of his brother in Sumter, S. C. I)r. and Mrs. David Marx have re turned from New York and Balti more, where they attended the en gagement reception of their son, David, to Miss Mary Hartman, of Chicago. Mrs. Abe Greenfield is recuperat ing at home, after a recent operation. Mrs. S. Hofflin, of Columbus passed through the city en route to the wed ding of her granddaughter in Pitts burgh. Mrs. Emanuel Mandel and son, Bernard will be in New Orleans dur ing the month of June. M rs. Joseph Yampolsky and daugh ter, Gertrude will spend some time in New York City this summer. Miss Ida Russ and Miss Minnie Miller were hostesses at a bridge and lingerie shower at the home of Miss Miller on Atlanta Avenue Sunday, May 26, complimenting Miss Mary Taratoot, whose marriage to Mr. Max London will ho an interesting event of July. Beautiful spring cut flowers were arranged throughout the house, and a color scheme of yellow and white was carried out. Top score was won by Miss Sadye Moret and consolation prize by Mrs. Dave Haver. Miss Tara toot was showered with beautiful gifts by her many friends. The guests included: the Misses Bess Nissenbaum, Hattie Gerschow, Anne Seigal, Mollye Russ, Sadye Moret, Lena Gerschow, Minnie Russ, Beulah Levin, Fannye Taffel, Tessie Manes, Fannye Berchenko, Mollye Klein, Lena Moret, Freda Miller, Ida Russ, and Minnie Miller; the Mes- dames C. Goldberg, Sam Gershon, -Max Kessler and Dave Haver. Rabbi and Mrs. Harry H. Epstein have been host and hostess to their mother and sisters who are here from Chicago. The guests have been the recipients of many lovely social cour tesies during their stay here. The many friends of the late Mr, Harry Shear wish to express their condolence to the members of the be reaved family.
