She also took part in the operas, “Martha’' and “Faust” and sang “Ba- carolle from Tales of Hoffman” with Miss Maxine Watson, of South Caro lina. Miss Ix?vkoff is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Ix>vkoff of 651 Park Way Drive. MRS. GROODZINSKY IS HONORED Mrs. Abe Groodzinsky, of New York City, formerly of Atlanta, was the recent guest of her sister, Mrs. A. BorochofT, and while in Atlanta she was extensively entertained by many of her friends. Mrs. Jack Rothenberg gave a luncheon and theater party in Mrs. Groodzinsky’s honor, and the following entertained at bridge-teas for her: 'Mrs. Jake Rosenberg, Mrs. Morris Nissenbaum, Mrs. Barney Ilur- witz, Mrs. Dave Cohen, and Mrs. Max Silverman. Mrs. Groodzinsky is at present visiting in Washington, D. C., after which she will return to her home in New York. JOSEL-TENENBA U M ENGAGE- MENT IS OF CORDIAL INTEREST The cordial interest of a host of friends centers in the announcement by Mr. and Mrs. Abram Josel of the engagement of their daughter, Flor ence Elayne, to Abe Benton Tenen- baum, the marriage to be solemnized in July. Miss Josel is a graduate of Ogle thorpe university, where she was one of the most popular members of her class, and where she distinguished her self for her dramatic talent. She was a member of the Oglethorpe Players’ Club and starred in several college productions. She also attended Co lumbia university, where she special ized in psychology and literature. She has resided in Atlanta for some years, having come to this city from Darien, Ga. She is a sister of Nathan Josel. Mr. Tenenbaum is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Tenenbaum, pio neer citizens of Atlanta. He received his education at Tech Hibh school and the Georgia School of Technology. Steinheimer present ed a group of pupils in a piano re cital, June 6, Ampico Hall. Miss Alice Smith will visit her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Smith, in June. Mrs. Jake Cohen and son, Harvey Lee, visited relatives in Birmingham. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Streitfeld and sons visited Mr. and Mrs. Jake Cohen. Mike Feldman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Feldman of Chattanooga, is now mak ing Atlanta his home. Miss Hattie Gerschow and Jake Hirsch are to be married June 27th at the Jewish Woman’s Club. The Alpha Sigma Kappa Sorority have held their last fneeting this season. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Cohen and Mr and Mrs. Hyman Cohen and childrer motored to Monroe recently to spenci the day with Mr. and Mrs. Morris Mendel and family. The many friends of Mrs. B. Boc stein, who was injured in an autom bile accident and who has been sta ing with her daughter and son, IV and Mrs. Herman Jacobson, will glad to know that she was able to i turn to her home on Washingt street. SCHEER Of cordial interest to a host of friends was the marriage of Miss Dora Mandle, daughter of Nlrs. Yetta Man- dle, to John Scheer. The ceremony was performed by Rabbi David Marx in the presence of the immediate family. Mr. and Mrs. Scheer left for an ex tended tour to California and other points west, and after July 15 will be at home at 1006 Washington street. Mrs. Ike Kullman of Memphis, Tenn. is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Solomonson. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Cerf and Miss Cerf motored to Montgomery to the wedding of Miss Maxine Wolf and Mr. Alfred Leopold of Selma, Ala. Mrs. Sam Greenberg left Sunday for Philadelphia to visit relatives and will go to Atlantic City for the sum mer months. Mrs. Sophie Selig has gone to New York to spend several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Monte Selig. Mr. and Mrs. Joe I. Froug are the parents of a baby boy, born May 13, 1929. Mrs. Marcus Klausman attended the Semi-Centennial Exercises at her Al ma Mater, Brenau College Conserva tory, Gainesville, Ga.
