BERMAN AT “FAYMORCELE” Set in a background of trees, with the lawn as a natural carpet, the wed ding of Miss Fay Emily Lewis, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lewis, of Lexington, to Mr. Joseph E. Berman, of Atlanta, was solemnized recently on the spacious grounds of “Faymorcele, the home of the bride’s father in Lex ington, Miss. The ceremony was performed on the elevated brick veranda of the home. The altar was arranged between two tall white pillars, with intertwined smilax and wistaria topping the pil lars. Behind the altar were banked palms, ferns and baskets of pink glad ioli lighted by cathedral lights. The wedding party entered from two sides of the home, coming in to the rear of the seated guests and contin uing down a wide aisle to the altar. Preceding the bride, who was giv en in marriage by her father, were junior bridesmaid and groomsman, little Patsy Kier and Gus Herrman- man of Lexington; two flower girls, little Lois Brady and Rose Davis Hy man, of Lexington, and a ring bearer, Betty Jane Masur, of Monroe, La. Mrs. Morris Lewis was the matron of honor and her gown was flesh-col ored lace over chiffon. The nine bridesmaids wore gowns of flesh-colored chiffon, made short in front and long in hack. They were Mrs. Pauline Kanner, of Jacksonville; Miss Elaine Lewis, of Jackson, Miss.; Miss Elaine Berman, of Blakely, Ga.; Miss Sylvia Lewis, of New York; Miss Ethel Sullivan, of At lanta; Miss Pauline Kiersky, of Jack- son; M iss Henrietta Bauman, of Mem phis, and Miss Rosa Mae Herrman, of Ix'xington. Mr. Berman, of Camilla, Ga., brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Leroy Paris, of Durant, Miss.; Mr. Louis Frohsin, of Atlanta; Mr. Elkin Herbert, of Jacksonville, and Mr. I. R. Berman, of Camilla, Ga. Mr. Celian Lewis, of Lexington, brother of the bride, Mr. Herbert Hy man. of Lexington; Mr. Harold Gon- senheim, of New Orleans, La.; Mr. Morris Lewis, Jr., of Lexington, broth er of the bride, and Dr. S. J. Smoke and Mr. Lowry A. Sims, of Atlanta; Mr. Eugene Herman and Mr. Cecil Herman, of Lexington, were the ushers. The bridal couple left for a three weeks’ honeymoon in Canada. After their return they will make their home in Atlanta, where Mr. Berman is a leading younger member of the bar. Mr. Berman is a graduate of the Uni versity of Georgia, at Athens, and a member of the Phi Epsilon Phi Frater nity. The bride received her early edu cation in Lexington and attended Na tional Park Seminary in Washington. She belonged to the Pi Beta Nu Sor ority. Visitors from the east, middle west and south witnessed the ceremony per formed by Rabbi Sol Kory, of Vicks burg. Mr. and Mrs. John Seheer have re turned from their wedding trip out west, and are at home, 1006 Washing ton Street. Inez Cohen-Julian S. Loewus Married in Baltimore The wedding that took place i n Baltimore, Md. of Julian S. Loewus son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Loewus of Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, was of great interest to friends throughout the South. Miss Inez Cohen is a graduate of Wellesley College, and Mr. Juliun S. Loewus a graduate of Massachusettes Institute of Technol- ogy. The couple will make their home in Baltimore, where Mr. Loewus is connected with Hecht & Co. Mr. and Mrs. Tobias BorochofT were hosts at a reception Tuesday night a; their home honoring their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Herron of New Orleans, La. They were assis ted in entertaining by their daughter and sons of Atlanta. During the eve. ning many friends of the hosts and I honored guests were present. Miss Sylvia Tanenbaum of Augusta. Ga. is attending Emory Summer School. Mr. and Mrs. Mendel entertained at a reception Sunday, June 16, at their home on Briarcliff Road. Mr. Louis L. Dettlebach, Jr. who a< student officer, has been cruising with the Georgia Tech, Yale, Harvard, and Northwestern Naval R. 0. T. C. units, aboard the U. S. S. New York in the Bermudas and Cuba was expected to return to Atlanta about July 12. Mr. and Mrs. Victor H. Kriegshaber and Miss Marion Kreigshaber are at their summer home Camp Victor, and have as their guests, Mrs. Henry Rauh of Indiana, and Miss Edith Schwartz, of Sumter, S. C. Mr. S. Goldstein, who has been se riously ill at Davis-Fischer Sanitari um, is convalescing at his home on Washington street. Miss Lavinia Greenblatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Greenblatt had as her guest, Miss Marie Larendon, of Houston, Texas. Milton Cronheim, Jr., the son of Mr. & Mrs. Milton H. Cronheim. is convalescing from an appendix opera tion at St. Joseph’s Infirmary. Mrs. Henry Weinberger and daugh- I ter, Miss Harriet Weinberger, of ■ Youngstown, Ohio, are the guests o Mrs. Sidney Wellhouse and Mrs. * ■ H. Leibman at the Winecoff Hotei.
