A.)—The Jewish Labor Office here received to day the following cable from the Jew ish labor party at Tel Aviv. The cable was dispatched from Cairo and was uncensored. It read: “Isaac C. Ben-Zvi telephones from Jerusalem that the Jewish colonies around the city was burned. Our brethren are being killed. Hebron, Tel Aviv and the colony Rechoboth, were attacked. We are interfered with in our self-defense action. We are being betrayed. We are being cut off from the entire world. Conditions are dan gerous throughout the country. We have no more strength. FREDERICK BROWN GIVE $100,000 TO HEBREW UNION COLLEGE FUND Mr. Frederick Brown, a leading phi lanthropist and real estate operator of New York, N. Y., and his wife are the donors of $100,000.00 toward the $6,000,000 Endowment Fund of the Hebrew Union College, according to announcement by Mr. Adolph S. Ochs, Chairman of the Fund Campaign, to Dr. Julian Morgenstern, President of the College. Mr. Brown’s other known benefac tions include money and land total ling $1,700,000 for the Federation of Jewish Charities of New York City and a building for New York Univer sity, which had been leasing the struc ture for $700,000. Mr. and Mrs. Brown’s $100,000 gift brings the He brew Union College Endowment Fund within $695,652.68 of its $5,000,000 goal. JEWISH CHILDREN MOST GIFT ED, SURVEY SHOWS Palto, Alto (J. T. A.)—There are slightly more gifted boys than girls, and of the national groups Jews are far in the head when it comes to tal ent, it is stated by I)r. Lewis M. Ter- man of Stanford, who is completing a study of 1,000 gifted children, which will be volume Ill of the series “Men tal and Physical Traits of a Thousand (lifted Children.” Dr. Terman has a wide reputation for his work in this field.
