Miss Regina Ungar rendered some numbers on the violin, accompanied by Miss Gussie Saul. Among the guests present were Miss Sara Shuman, Mrs. Victor Bock, Mrs. Louis Gilner, Mrs. Joel Frankel, Mrs. Mendel Boorstein, Mrs. Elias Stoiler, Mrs. Moise Kaplan. Misses Gussie and Sadie Saul, Regina Ungar, Rebecca Shuman, Eva Weinberg, Lillian Es- serman, Lena Shuman, Mamye Jacobs, Frances Heilman, Gladys Shuman, Marie Scheuer, Dorothy Shuman, Gertrude Wald, Polly Gershon, Lillie Bleich, Perle Borkitzky and Rae Rosenberg. Mrs. A. B. Cheraton, whose mar riage was a recent event, was a guest in the city. Mrs. Cheraton was for merly Miss Hannah Cohen, the daugh ter of of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Cohen. Mrs. Ike Marks of Charleston, S. and sister, Mrs. Barr., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ferst. The engagement of Miss Theresa Solomon of Memphis, Tenn., to Mr. Herbert Baum has been announced. Mr. Ike Strauss of Tulsa, Okla., is visiting his son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lea M. Strauss on Briar- cliff Road. Mrs. Leon Rosenberg is ill with pneumonia. Surprise Party Given in Honor of Miss Frances Heilman One of the most beautiful affairs recently was the surprise birthday dinner party given by Miss Frances Heilman in honor of Miss Gertrude Wald. The table had as its central decoration a gorgeous lace cloth, ar tistically arranged with burning tapers and flower covered mirror. The guest list included only members of the family and a few intimate friends. Those enjoying the affair were Miss Gertrude Wald, Mrs. Max Heilman, Mrs. ,J. .1. Heilman, Miss Dora Wald, Miss Rae Rosenberg, Mr. Wald, Mrs. Max Heilman, Mr. Sam Rosenberg, Mr. Morris Frank, Mr. Sidney Stein berg and Dr. Henry Yolken. Mrs. Harry Zaren and son, Daniel of Savannah, Ga., were guests of the • mother and father, Mr. and Mrs v J. Gold. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Strasburger and daughter, Joan, have returned from a visit to Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Ferd Kaufman was called to New Orleans by the serious illness of her brother. Miss Sylvia Berman of Anniston, Ala., arrived to visit her cousin, Miss Mary Clare May at her home on Springdale Road. Miss Sara CJordon Weds Mr. Leo Hirsch Of unusual interest to a wide circle of friends is the marriage of Miss Sara Gordon to Mr. Leo Hirsh on Sun day, January 112th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Hirsh, parents of the groom. The ceremony was per formed in the presence of members of the family only, Rabbi Harry H. Epstein officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Hirsh left for a wedding trip to Flori da. Mr. Max Schreiber has returned from New York, where he motored with a number of friends. Mr. Sam Rosenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kail Rosenberg, was a guest in the city. Mr. Rosenberg has been making his home in Iowa for the past two years, where he is connected with the Iowa State Highway Commission as civil engineer. Mrs. Abe Alper and son, Benjamin, of Chattanooga, Tenn., were the re cent guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. Fried man. Mi ss Amalie Frank of Washington, D. C. and Miss Kitty Kach of Cleve land, Ohio were guests of Miss Joan Brown. A lovely dancing party was given at the Standard Club in honor of these two attractive visitors. Miss Ruby Eichberg is spending a few months in New York. Miss Carlyn Strauss has returned from Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Eichberg and daughter, Caroline, left for their future home, Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Morris Solomon has recovered , from an attack of pneumonia. Miss Fanny Kaiser is well again after a serious illness of pneumonia. Miss Evelyn Guthman and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Held have returned from Richmond, Va. Mr. Ben Joel and Mr. John Murphy, who were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Joel, Sr., have returned to their home in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rich and daughter, Bee, have returned from New York. Mr. and Mrs. Art Rubinson ha. returned to their home in Des Moin.- Iowa, after being the guests of M and Mrs. S. J. Gold. Mrs. Rubw, was the former Miss Dora Hold Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cohen i the proud parents of a daughter, uh has been given the name of Ali, Elaine. Mrs. Cohen was before h marriage Miss Ida Rosenthal of X, York City. Martin Kohn, Mr Harold Hirsch, Jr., and Mr. Lewis Regenstein have returned to college after spending the holidays with their parents.
