Page 6 The Southern Israelite Mrs. Cecil Cohen and Mrs. Eli Levin of Indiana Har bor Feted Two of the moat popular guests j n the city recently were Mrs. Eli Levin and her sister Mrs. Cecil Cohen, both of Indiana Harbor, who were guests of Mrs. Meyer Goldstein at her home on Los Angeles Drive. Mrs. Levin will be remembered as Miss Anne Goldstein, while Mrs. Cohen was the former Ida Goldstein. Among those entertaining for Mrs. Levin and Mrs. Cohen were Mrs. .lake Abelson, who entertained at a beautiful luncheon at her home on Virginia Ave.; Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Levitas who entertained at a dinner party; Mrs. Simon Mendel at a lunch eon; Mrs. Sol Romm at her home on St. Charles Ave. at a tea; Mrs. Abe Goldstein at the WinecolF Hotel with a bridge luncheon; Mrs. Moise Kap lan also at the WinecofT Hotel with a bridge luncheon; Mrs. Ike Kaplan at her home at a dinner party; Mrs. Ike Nerebaum and Mrs. Herman Jacobson entertained jointly at a bridge lunch eon; Mrs. Harry and Mrs. Louie Rit- tcnbaum also entertained jointly at a bridge luncheon, and a number of others. Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Levin will leave soon for Palm Reach, Fla., where they will be the guest of their sister. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Heyman an nounce the birth of a daughter, who bears the name of Eleanor. Mrs. David Marx, Jr., was operated on in Chicago for appendicitis. Mrs. Chas. Heyman and Mrs. Carl Goettinger gave a joint birthday party celebrating their sons’ birthday; ages two and four years. Mr. Arthur Strauss is at St. Joseph infirmary. Mr. Henry Williamson spent the week end in the city. The engagement of Mr. William Rich to Mrs. Helen Jonas, of New York, is announced. Mrs. Max Greenfield is in Boston. Mrs. Sam Herman of Charlotte vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Lou Kaufman, at their home on North Boulevard. Mrs. Herman was entertained by a host of f riends. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs entertained at their home with a dinner dance on Saturday evening, January 1 Dth. Mrs. Gus Hoffman and son, Bern hardt, are spending a month in Bal timore visiting relatives. Dr. and Mrs. David Marx have re turned from a motor trip through Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Shulafer, of Savannah, Ga., have returned home. Master Leon Ullman has recovered from his recent illness. Mrs. Ed. Hirsch and daughter, Mrs. Ben Cohen, are guests of Mrs. Harold Montag. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schlesinger, of San Francisco, who have spent the winter months as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sig Samuels, have returned home. Mrs. J. Cohen entertained recently seven little friends of her son, Harvey Lee, in honor of his seventh birthday, at a luncheon and theatre party at the Fox Theatre. Among those en joying the occasion were Margy Co hen, Lillian Smolen, Peggy Copeloff, Joan Heilman, Sylvan Hugh Meyers, Jack Cohen and Milton Romm. Miss Pauline of New York City was the recent guest of Mrs. Abe Ney, at her home on Park Drive. Mr. and Mrs. A. Hirsch, of Charles ton, S. C., were visitors of their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Goldberg. Mr. J. M. Brown entertained at a bridge luncheon recently honoring Mrs. Cecil Cohen of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cronheim celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary recently. They were at home to their friends at a reception from three until five o’clock at the Georgian Terrace. Among the out-of- town guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cronheim, of St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Cronheim, of Birmingham; Mr. and Mrs. Sol Cronheim, Rabbi and Mrs. J. J. Hochstadter, of Cincinnati; Mrs. Ray Loeb, Mrs. N. J. DeWald, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pinkersohn, of Savannah, and Mrs. Simon Benjamin, of Jacksonville. Miss Edith Leibovitz, of Chatta nooga, was the recent guest of Miss Perle Borkitzky. Mr. and Mrs. Abe Solomon and daughter, Sylvia, of Chattanooga, spent New \ ear’s week-end with their mother, Mrs. Carrie Bokritzky. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berman enter tained recently at their home on North Boulevard. Mr. Piassick, former.} of New York, is the son of Mr. an Mrs. J. H.
