Page 8 The Southern Israelite N Miss Adler and Mr. Collat Wed At Lovely Ceremony A marriage characterized by ex quisite simplicity and beauty was that of Miss Evelyn Adler to Mr. Meyer T. Collat, of Savannah, which was quietly solemnized on Saturday after noon, March 8, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adler, on East Eighth Street. Rabbi David Marx performed the ceremony in the presence of a gathering of rela tives and intimate friends. The home was tastefully decorated with quantities of palms, ferns and smilax which were gracefully arrang ed throughout the lower floor of the attractive house. Mrs. David Goldberg, of New York City, the bride’s only sister and at tendant, was the charming maid of honor. She was gowned in a becom ing costume of brown lace with hat in blending tones and her shoulder corsage was of orchids. Mr. Edgar Collat, the bridgroom’s brother, was best man. Lovely Bride The lovely young bride was smart ly gowned in a costume of beige and brown flowered chiffon, her brunet beauty being enhanced by the soft tones of brown and by her pictur esque hat of brown horsehair. Following the ceremony a beauti fully-appointed dinner was held with covers laid for the bridal party and the members of the family. Mr. Adler and his bride left after wards for a motor trip through Flor ida, sailing from there for Havana, Cuba, where they will spend a week. Upon their return they will make their home at the DeSoto Hotel in Savannah. Mr. and Mrs. Berman Celebrate Silver Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Gus Berman cele brated their silver wedding anni versary recently, with a family din ner at their home on Park Drive. The home was decorated throughout with palms and cut flowers. Places were laid for twenty-eight members of the family and out-of-town guests. The table was a replica of the one of twenty-five years ago, was over laid with the same lace cloth; and Mrs. Raphael Moise, who was a bridesmaid at the wedding, duplicated the wedding cake she baked for the bride long ago. The central decora tions on the tables were plateaus of spring flowers and unshaded silver tapers. The guests’ places were marked by hand-painted place cards and favors of small sliver bells. Toasts were offered during the eve ning by Dr. L. C. Roughlin, Mr. Charles Bergman and Mr. Ben Fried man. Mrs. Berman receiver her guests wearing a black lace gown made on the new long lines, and a corsage of | roses and valley lilies. Mrs. I. Wein- j berg, mother of the hostess, wore | black lace over orchid satin. Mrs. I L. C. Rouglin wore a draped model of egg shell moire and a corsage of roses. Miss Bernice Berman wore ping chiffon. The guest list included Dr. and Mrs. L. C. Rouglin, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Schur, Mr. and Mrs. Bergman, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Berman, Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Berman, Mr. and Mrs. Na than Bach, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fried man, Miss Celia Bergman, Miss Min nie Klein. Miss Beverly Schur, Miss Helen Berman, Miss Anita and Miss Bernice Berman, Mr. Herman Rich, Mr. Charles Bergman, Mr. H. Berg man, Master Harold Berman, Mas ter Alfred Berman, all of Atlanta; Mrs. Raphael Moise, of Sumter, N. C.; Mr. Phillip Jewels, of New York, and Miss Billie Berman, of the Uni versity of Alabama. Mrs. Lloyd Springer of New York has returned home after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Horwitz. Mr. Benj. Feld has returned from a business trip to Miami, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Adler and Mr. and Mrs. Edel Jankower have re turned home after a visit to Miami and Cuba. Mr. Max Mendel, Secretary of the Jewish Progressive Club, and Mr. Abe Herman are spending the remain der of the winter in Florida. Mrs. Alex Dittler is spending some time in Florida. T he Store All Vomen Know* Miss Rabinowitz and Mr. Bressler Weds Of widespread interest throughout the South was the marriage of Miss Gertrude Marguerite Rabinowitz to Mr. Simon Meyer Bressler. Sunday evening, March 9th, at the home of the bride-elect’s parents, Mr. and Mrs Wm. Rabinowitz on Virgnia Ave with Rabbi Harry Epstein officiating Miss Mamye Rabinowtz, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Mr. Jack Bressler was best man. Little Miss Irma Harriette Bressler, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Rabinowitz, parents of the bride, entertained at a reception. The bride and bridegroom left for a wedding trip to Florida. Miss Jeannette Zimmerman, who is now making her home in Tampa. Fla., was a recent guest in the city to at tend the Silverman-Zimmerman wed ding, an event of the past week. Miss Irene Bernath has just re turned from an extended two months' trip to the West Coast. Miss Bernath visited Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and other points of interest. Mr. Charles Weinstein of Birming ham, was a recent guest in the city. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sutker enter tained at their home on Brookridge Drive on Wednesday, February 10th, at a dance. A large number of guests enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Sutker. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tessler of Kins ton, N. C., are the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Tessler. Mrs. Fred Stevens has returned to New r York after spending a few days in Atlanta. Mrs. Fred Kaufman has returned from New Orleans where she was call ed by the death of her brother, Mr. Julius Wolfe. Mrs. Gus Hoffman has returned from a short visit in Baltimore.
