MRS. NETTIE G. NAUMBERG,
widow of the philanthropist Aaron
Naumburg, has willed the entire
Naumburg art collection to the Wil
liam Hayes Fogg Museum at Harvard
University, the collection including
tapestries, jewels, statuary and paint
ings, representing such artists as
Rembrandt, El Greco, Reubens,
Franz Hals and Murillo. Harvard
is also to receive $100,000 to be used

GRAND OPERA
NEWS
Atlanta’s twentieth season of
grand opera, presented by the most
famous opera organization of the
world, the Metropolitan of New York,
will be opened at the Auditorium on
Thursday night, May 1, and four per
formances will be given including a
matinee on Saturday.
As in the past, special attention is
being paid to out-of-town patrons, for
opera in Atlanta is an “all-southern’’
event and its promotors desire to en
courage attendance from other cities
and towns in every way possible.
While Atlanta citizens will have no
opportunity to purchase seats until
April 7, when season tickets go on
sale for one week only, reservations
may be made by out-of-town patrons
at any time, and will be filled in the
order of their receipt.

tier’s opera in French, “Louise”, nev
er before presented in the South.
