Mr. Marks Kessler Buried
At Macon
Macon, Ga.—Mr. Marks Kessler, 56,
proprietor of a dry goods store at Ma
con, died Sunday at his home after an
illness of several months. He had
been a merchant there for thirty-five
years.
Besides his widow, who was former
ly Miss Ida Solomon, of Macon, he is
survived by one son, Oscar Kessler;
two daughters, Annie and Rebecca
Kessler, of this city, and one brother,
Herman Kessler, of Brooklyn, New
York.
He was a member of fort Hawkins
Lodge F. & A. M., and one of the lead
ers of Sherah Israel Synagogue.
Rabbi Shapiro conducted the serv
ice.
Montreal School Bill Voted
Quebec, Canada—The bill providing
for the establishment of a separate
Jewish School Commission, which will
have the power to establish separate
Jewish schools in Montreal, has been
passed by the Quebec Legislature
with a vote of 52 to 5.
