i The Southern Israelite Page 8 a c in t r Miss Gold Weds Mr. Litch At Lovely Home Ceremony A marriage characterized by simple beauty and dignity, and one of cor dial interest to hosts of friends was that of Miss Fan Gold and Mr. Mel vin Litch, which was solemnized April 3, at the home of the bride’s brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Har ry Weinberg, at 632 Park Drive. Dr. David Marx performed the ceremony in the presence of a small gathering of relatives and friends. The home was tastefully decorated with palms, ferns, and foliage plants, interspersed with baskets of lilies of the valley and roses which formed an effective setting for the bridal party. Mrs. Weinberg was the matron of honor and wore a gown of pale blue crepe. The maid of honor was Miss Rose Gold, who wore a gown of cream-colored crepe. The bride wore a gown of eggshell crepe combined with real lace, and her small hat and accessories were all in blending tones. She wore a cor sage of Ophelia roses and valley lilies. Following the ceremony an infor mal reception was held after which the young couple left for a wedding trip to New York, the Carolinas, Ni-,j agara Falls and Canada. Mrs. David Lipsey Honors Visitors Thomasville, Ga.—Mrs. David Lip sey entertained with a bridge at her home recently, in honor of Mrs. Joe Harris of Savannah, Miss Minnie Rosenbloom of Hartford, Conn., and Miss Edith Rosenberg of Albany, Ga. High score, a lovely pair of book ends, was won by Mrs. LeRoy Roso- lio; consolation going to Mrs. Joe Harris. Among the guests were Miss Dora Levitt, Sara Levitt, Minnie Ros enbloom, Edith Rosenberg, Sara Fein- berg, Selma Rosolio, Mrs. Sadie Gar ber, Mrs. Joe Harris, Mrs. Herman Feinberg, Mrs. Harry Feinberg, Mrs. Louis Kolesky, Mrs. Morris Warshaw, Mrs. Chas. Schenker, Mrs. LeRoy Rosolio, and Mrs. J. Silverman. Mrs. Herbert Loring of Stamford, Conn., was the guest of relatives for a few days. Mrs. Bertrum Maier has returned from Miami. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wiseberg and family have returned from a visit in Savannah. Mrs. Addie Lillienthal has returned flfrom a stay in Savannah. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Edison were recent guests in the city. Mrs. Julius Schwartz of Chatta nooga, Tenn., spent the week-end in Atlanta as the guest of her mother, Mrs. Carrie Bokritzky. Miss Esther Siegel left during the past week for New York City, where she will reside. Of unusual interest to a wide cir cle of friends is the announcement of the engagement of Miss Ada Winer of Chattanooga, Tenn., to Mr. Ralph Abelman of Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Morris Hirsch has returned from Birmingham. Mr. Melvin Nussbaum, of Bain- bridge, Ga., spent a few days in the city recently. Miss Bertha Strauss has recovered from a recent illness. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hirsch are in Cuba. Mrs. Morris Bernard and family motored to Montgomery for a few days recently. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. T. Brown and daughter, Joan, have returned from a visit in Cuba. Mr. and Mrs. H. Mendel have re turned from Miami where they visit ed their son, Harry Mendel ,who is at tending the University of Miami. Mrs. Henry Koplin of Macon was a recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Mendel on Briarclitf Rd. Mrs. Lylse Shassenburg, who has been the guest of Mrs. David Bloom, has returned to her home in New Or leans, La. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Montag mo tored to Columbus, Miss., to be with Mrs. Montag’s father, Mr. Simon Loeb, on his 81st birthday. Mir. Louis Montag, who was in Memphis, Tenn., joined them. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Joseph of Catskill, N. Y., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Schwartz on Ponce de Leon Ave. Miss Aline Fox, whe is a senior at Wellesley College, spent the Easter holidays here. Mrs. Julia Hoflin is the guest of her daughters, Mrs. Sam Schoen and Mrs. Charles Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Hirsch have re turned from Cuba. Mrs. Bert Fox Gives Series of Parties Mrs. Bert Fox is entertaining with a series of bridge-luncheons, the fi r >t one was given on April 2, at her home on Oakdale Road. Spring flowers in pastel shades were artistically used in the attrac tive decorations.
