' At 5 Points \oung Judaean Convention T° Be Held In Atlanta The 11th annual convention of the Southern Interstate \oung Judaean Asso ciation, Jewish youth organization, will be held in Atlanta beginning August 3rd, and continuing throughout the week. Approximately 150 delegates are ex pected to attend. Jacksonville will be rep resented by Beck Diamond, 2nd Vice- President of the Association, and Mrs. Gabriel Dry fees, a member of the Execu tive Committee; Columbus, by Gertrude Gillman, 3rd Vice-President, Morris Feinberg, member of Executive Commit tee, and Louis Witt, a member of the Executive Committee; Savannah, by Edith Kuhn, 1st \ ice-President, and Etta Feinberg, a member of the Executive Committee; Chattanooga, by Fruma Belle Winer, Recording Secretary, and Dinah Rausin, member of the Executive Com mittee; New Orleans, by Rose Brenner, Chairman of the Executive Committee; and Montgomery, by Phil Eisenberg, a member of the Executive Council. The convention will be handled by the Local Council of the Association, of which Nathan Blass is the chairman, and a com mittee consisting of Joe Cuba, Hyman Morris, Louis Geffen, Leon Berman, Isa- dor Goldman, Ben Rosenberg, Max Cuba, Joseph Blank, and Charles W. Bergman. At the opening banquet on August 3rd, members of the Donors Club, an organi zation being formed to underwrite the convention consisting of men who have contributed $5.00 or more towards the cost of the convention, will he accorded special favor. As one of the purposes of the organization is to encourage social activities between boys and girls, em phasis is being placed on the entertainment diversements. On August 3rd, stunt-night will be observed at the Jewish Educa tional Alliance. August 4th there will be a dance at Forrest Hills Country Club in Avondale, and on August 5th there will be a dance at the Jewish Progressive Club, while an all day outing is planned for August 6th, at a place to he deter mined later. The Southern Interstate Young Judaean Association was formed in 1919. It is a subsidiary branch of the National Young Judaea Association, and has for its pur pose the education of the Jewish youth in reference to Jewish history and culture, especially dealing with movements to wards Zionism. Its present president is Louis Geffen, of Atlanta. Hebrew School to Have Summer Course A special summer course in elementary and advanced Hebrew is being offered by the United Hebrew School at Washing ton and Woodward Avenues during the summer months under the direction of Dr. David Beth-Lahmy. The course will be chiefly for the benefit of High School and College stu dents, who limited by their winter studies could not attend regular classes. Classes are heing formed at the Principal’s of fice, and sessions will begin June 16th, lasting until August 28th. B'nai B’rith Holds Meeting A very interesting and lively B’nai B’rith meeting was held June 10th at the Jewish Progressive Club, Mr. L. J. Levitas, presiding.
