RABBI JOSEPH SCIINUEUR- SOHN, world-famous scholar atid scion of an old aristocratic Jewish family, was the chief guest of honor at the flag-raising exercises held on Bunker Hill Day. In a short speech he blessed America for its liberal attitude towards the Jewish people and all other races and creeds, and in turn was given a tremendous ovation. LEON EALK, of Pittsburgh, who died recently, left $25,000 to the Uni versity of Pittsburgh. The sum was originally left to Temple Rodef Sho- lom, provided it was used for the main tenance of a gymnasium and swimming pool, hut since these activities have been discontinued by the congregation, the executors of the estate asked per mission of the courts to pay the $25,- 000 to the University of Pittsburgh.
