in Boston since 1648, that there are

England Attacked By
Congressman Fish
Washington, I). C.—Declaring that
the suspension of Jewish immigration
into Palestine is a violation of the
spirit of the Balfour declaration and
runs counter to the American-Hritish
Palestine Mandate convention of 1924,
Congressman Hamilton Fish, Jr., of
New York, urged the people of Great
Britain to prevail upon their govern
ment to change its course of action in
Palestine. His address, delivered in the
House of Representatives, declared
that “Great Britain must respect her
sacred promise, which was made to
the Jews of America as well as to the
Jews of the world; either she must
administer that obligation in the sense
accepted by the other peoples or she
must confess her inability to do so, so
that proper action may be taken.” Con
gressman Fish stated that if Great
Britain continues with its present pol
icy, the government of the United
States may be forced to inquire oi
Great Britain "with regard to its fu
ture intentions in Palestine, whether it
proposes to carry out the obligations it
assumed.”
